Good size 68k FB Marketplace haul

It was surface mount. I sold it this weekend. The only things from this lot that I ended up keeping are the two Power Mac 6100s (one of which has both the AV card and the cache) and the MicroMac Multispeed Accelerator which is going into my SE

PowerMac G5 with a surprise inside

It's an AGP card, not PCI. I would get you a ROM dump provided you can tell me how to go about it

PowerMac G5 with a surprise inside

Another Facebook Marketplace find, this time for $40. I just always wanted a G5 tower from the time they were new. This one was local and I knew it was a dual 2GHz model, so I grabbed it. The surprise is the nVIDIA Geforce 6800 Ultra DDL inside. I can't wait to get myself a 23" display now and...

    multispeed accelerator maximum RAM

I'm tricking mine out because I have limited desk space and I don't have an SE/30. I also happen to unexpectedly come into possession of this accelerator. I'm hoping it will outdo the Radius SE 16MHz 020 accelerator I have now, which doesn't have a RAM component

In the next week or two, I plan on pulling that one apart and seeing how bad it is. I'll do my best to neutralize any corrosion on the various pieces. Even if the logic board isn't beyond repair, it's certainly beyond my skill level.

Fortunately, the various MicroMac products within the SE-30 which make it possible seem to be either undamaged or salvageable. I'm most worried about the adapter which makes the ROM SIMM fit, as it was closest to the battery and has some obvious corrosion

Apparently I also got a standard SE that I forgot to mention, and it was two CMD drives and one external CD-ROM drive. I still have to go back for two more SE's and a Syquest drive

No ROM SIMM in anything other than the MicroMac SE-30

I'll have to take a look for that. All I did so far was a quick evaluation and battery removal on them all.

Good size 68k FB Marketplace haul

About two weeks ago I stumbled upon a Facebook Marketplace listing located in Reading, PA (about 100 miles from where I am in NJ) for a pile of vintage Mac hardware. The photos were blurry but for the $350 price, it looked like a good deal even if half the machines were battery bombed. So far...

Wait, you got yours up to 40MHz?

Understood, thanks. I'll save my money and go with 4MB SIMMs, and maybe bring the accelerator up to 33MHz instead

Sorry, its a MicroMac Multispeed Accelerator with a 25MHz 030 going into an SE

Has anyone ever tried filling it with 16mb SIMMs to bring their machine to 64mb? I know the archival website for the card says 16 meg is the max, but I can't imagine 16 meg SIMMS were common or cheap in 1991.

You are completely correct. I guess I should have said they they're all from a common era. It's also worth noting that both my Amiga 500 and Atari 520ST have 68030 accelerators
