    Not possible With a 3.5 inch disk, because you can’t insert them upside down. This is possible with 5.25 inch floppies, because you can insert the disk upside down.

    How urgent is recapping a Quadra 610 when the logic board looks in pretty good shape.

    Capacitor liquid is partially conductive. Capacitor residue between IC legs is causing low voltage readings, because there are weak shorts between IC legs. The residue must be removed around ICs.

    The most horrible USB card layout I’ve ever seen

    I was a Manufacturing Engineer in the PCB business for many years. My opinion is someone has intentionally applied WAY more current to that board than was required. 500 mA at 5V (USB maximum) will not blow those large traces off the board. You need about 100V at 15 Amps to do that kind of damage.

    A Class 2 card is very slow according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SD_card You should use a Class 10 card or faster. SanDisk Ultra or Extreme are good choices. You should be able to buy a SanDisk 32 GB Ultra or Extreme for $10.

    Great job. I see the problem IC had a leaking capacitor on both ends. The old cap juice is nearly invisible, and takes some effort to remove completely.
