I didn't realize you need software for the upgrade cards. What would I need for the 500mhz Sonnet Crescendo in my G3 minitower?

I have a monochrome Pivot monitor (0194) with the DB-9 video connector, but I do not have the cable. I've seen people talking about finding the pinout for the DB-15 to DB-9 that goes between the card and the monitor, but I cannot for the life of me find anywhere that someone actually posted it...

Did you ever get that pinout? I'm looking at a 0194 for sale but it does not have the cable.

If you're only getting a single dot, it sounds like the deflection is not working at all, which might be an issue with the yoke or the analog board circuitry, not the flyback.

Tadirans are lesser of the lithium evils, IMO. Either way it's good to get rid of it. Also, you didn't need to do any bodges for UE8? Lucky!

I don't use Spotify, but the dithered album covers look awesome.

Update: Fixed. UE8 pin 11 to UC6 pin 3.

Gonna bump this thread, as I have the same issue. I've reflowed UE8. I haven't done much continuity testing yet. I'll update if I fix it.

From my experience with RAM, if something's not connected right it would show a sad mac as opposed to doing what yours is doing.

the best PowerPC G3 is the minitower IMO, or the B&W if you're up for it. If you want an earlier machine, I'd recommend a 040 machine you can find for cheap, or a 030 machine if you can't find the former. System 7 runs reasonably well on my IIci and I don't see a reason to shell out hundreds...

That's vertical collapse, which if I remember correctly is usually a capacitor issue, no? At the very least, I would check J1's solder joints and replace the capacitor at C1, it's an important capacitor for the display and is BIPOLAR, despite looking like a normal polar electrolytic capacitor...
