I think you'll find the memory has been replaced with MT1258 256k chips, so that 74F253 is likely the additional address decoding. If working, you should have 512k RAM.

Have you considered going this route... IMO that's a great price on the adapter. Of course, you'd need to find an accelerator, but that would result in a much quicker A/UX machine... Full thread the above came from here - 'FS: Turbo 040 + Mac II adapter'...
