    Very interesting, I never knew Griffin were involved in such shenanigans. The W42C26 is kind of an obscure chip. I found the datasheet and attached it. There's almost no information out there about IC Works. Apparently they were purchased by Cypress eventually.

    Ah, that's 2 PCI slots + a Comm Slot II vs. 3 PCI slots, that makes sense. Not sure whether Tanzania has the same issues as Alchemy/Gazelle with PCI bridge chips, but there could be some issues with multifunction cards in the bridged slots of the 5-slot riser card.

    Did a little more searching; these 9000 cards are a real crap shoot. There are at least 4 variants. Here's a 64MB card with 3.6ns Hynix RAM (that's 275MHz): Here's a 128MB card. It also uses 4ns Samsung RAM:
