One on the side controls is brightness the other is contrast, turning brightness does nothing, wonder if it's the pot? but they don't break, do they? Actually turning the brightness dial makes...

Yes this is as good as the brightness/contrast can get, the back adjustments don't affect the washed out look

Hi all, I've had the 13" trinitron in to get looked at, there's a slight improvement but still some kind of offset, low contrast and softness. The TV guy said it needs a new line output transformer, but can't source one. Any other opinions on this? considered a re-cap perhaps? n.b. the pink...

Pretty simple as I recall, this is helpful . then just follow Fallen6 method above. The breaks can be very very small.

I didn't, I had the new board to jumped right in to replace 🛠️

Done! new hybrid from Supesvga and now running happily from battery. Not easy to get out cleanly but took my time, had to chop the old one up but all ok. Big shout out to @SuperSVGA and @androda for their hardware projects for the portable 🙌

Good shout Brooklyn, I checked it was sending current to the battery terminals when depressed so guess that would be working?

Thanks alexGS, that's very encouraging. Good solution, was thinking solder wick and then heat gun, but there's a lot of bits that might go awol! Need to get a hybrid replacement first though

Hi, my 3400c has started some strange behaviour, the screen backlight will go off and the fan comes on, usually just a few seconds sometimes 30-60s. Most often after start up then less frequently. The screen is still active can just about make out icons, windows etc. Any ideas what's up or...

Nice one, thanks Falen, yes that’s my plan and figured there’s a few in the same area (space bar, arrow keys…) just going to use the schematic to plan out the connections make it a bit easier to see whats going on
