    SE/30 analogue board fun

Thanks for the tip.  Now I just need to get the right caps.

    SE/30 analogue board fun

Ouch.  I hope not!  Where could I get a good replacement CRT from!?

    SE/30 analogue board fun

Ohh kay.  So now my SE/30 is booting fine, and all seemed well.  But… …the screen is rather dim (in fact, totally black until the brightness knob has gone past half-way) - and occasionally shimmys very slightly.  You wouldn't notice unless you were looking.  Damn.  Just when it all seemed to be...

    Troubleshooting SCSI2SD in SE/30.

You are all absolute legends (especially the creator of the Savage Taylor website).  I set up exactly as shown, and added a brand new 16GB SD card for good measure - and now my SE/30 seems to be very happy (on cursory inspection, anyway).  I'm going to soak test it with Tetris now! Thank you!

    Troubleshooting SCSI2SD in SE/30.

Okay, so my SE/30 is recapped and, in all other respects, works fine.  Even the power supply has been serviced.  It's 32bit clean, packing 64MB RAM - a real beauty.  I could try it with the original ROM SIMM as well, I suppose - except that my LCIII+ (also recapped) has the same problem with the...

    Troubleshooting SCSI2SD in SE/30.

What configuration should I use for SCSI2SD (V5.1)?  I'm having no luck at all with mine.  This is the story. With the old hard drive, my Mac was Sad Mac'ing on every boot.  I tried fitting my spare hard disk, loose in the case, and it booted fine (so I don't think that the problem is with my...

    Macintosh SE/30 Restoration

Yeah - I tried that (and it's an excellent resource).  Sadly, it still isn't working!

Where can I find a IIe Software Archive - with a twist

Awesome work Realitystorm!  That website is brilliant.  Thanks for this.

Where can I find a IIe Software Archive - with a twist

The twist is that it isn't for an Apple II.  It isn't for an emulator either.  What I'd like is an easy way to get ProDOS disk images, or software, in a format that can be readily installed on a Macintosh LCIII with an Apple II card installed. There are lots of sources of Apple II software on...

    Parental Controls in Leopard?

I've given my son his grandfather's old G5 - just until he proves that he can look after nice things.  I'm not going to splurge the cash on him only for him to break whatever it is that he's been given! The problem I have is that Parental Controls for web browsing don't seem to work any more...

    Oddly Behaving G4

And the prize goes to Bolle!  Thank you - you're a top bloke and all round diamond geezer who definitely knows where his towel is.  My G4 is happy again!

    Oddly Behaving G4

The Mulitprocessor Plugin theory sounds interesting.  Where is this plugin?  It's not loose in the System folder AFAICS, nor in the Extensions folder.  What's it called?

    Oddly Behaving G4

I have a G4 Digital Audio - which is behaving very oddly.  The specification, for reference and in case this has a bearing on matters, is that it has 1GB RAM, DVD-RW, Zip 250, a Sonnet Duet 1.6GHz accelerator, Sonnet SATA card (with a 500GB SATA drive attached), Maxtor 75GB hard drive, Maxtor...

    Old Mac, Modern Internet

Excellent.  Detailed instructions please? I couldn't get it to work at stripping / converting - but I'd love to know how to.

    Old Mac, Modern Internet

Okay. So there's a new version up on GitHub which does more to reformat email so that it displays correctly with classic Mac email clients. More work needs to be done to strip extended Unicode (emoji), and (for some reason) some messages are losing their subjects. All this is fixable. SMTP is...

    Old Mac, Modern Internet

Okay, so there are a few things to do first (not least letting me know what system you built on, and what errors you saw. Email them to me at the 45RPM Software support address.) There shouldn't be any build errors or warnings. Next, look in the mail folder that you configured in your...

    Old Mac, Modern Internet

@mactjaap - Love to. Er.  How? As to the deletion bug, it's a brown paper bag job.  I'm deeply embarrassed, and I hide my head in shame.  I'll fix it immediately.  Before anyone notices, hopefully!

How odd.  What computer are you viewing from?  The images are hosted at http://45rpmsoftware.com/NetGateway/PICTURE1.jpgand http://45rpmsoftware.com/NetGateway/PICTURE2.jpg - can you see them if you go there directly?  Maybe try https?

    Old Mac, Modern Internet

Okay - so I still haven't entirely decided what it's called, and it's still only partially working, but here it is https://github.com/PascalHarris/NetGateway - have fun. I've got rather a lot on at the moment, so I make no promises as to when I'll finish writing it, but it has tremendous scope...
