Acquired a IIfx (yay!) Issues (boo!)

I'm wondering if someone cut that trace on purpose. Hmm Scope time. Verify each of your pins are correct (sounds like you've done that). Verify all voltage and gnd pins are good. Verify your enable line is right (active low) and that read data has activity.same with all the other lines After...

You can desoldrr the header pins, or... if you don't care about looks you can just run a jumper from the inductor from the top of the board to the bottom of the board. It would be a long run, but easy to do.

Cool. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks!

    Apple IIe Resistor

That's fine. It.say kernal okay on an unenhanced iie (doesn't have the upgraded processor). Your sound problem could be as simple as a bad speaker or it's just not plugged in. Make sure the 2 pin connector is seated correctly on the speaker out pins (look under the keyboard)

And the other works fine on this monitor?

    Apple IIe Resistor

That looks like your computer is working, but you have a horizontal sync issue. Not sure if it's your monitor. Look for the hsync adjustment on the monitor. That or you could get one of those apple to vga cards and just run it on a vga monitor

If your getting 4.46 at your 5volt rail for the whole board I'm surprised everything but your floppy is working. Something is pulling your rail down or your power supply isn't able to supply the current needs of the board. Iifx expert anyone?

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Use the vertical adjustment and see if you can make the image a little bigger. It should drop the center down.

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Just read an article on compact tubes and you should be good on yoke compatibility, but since you changed your caps I would definetly verify the vertical and horizontal adjustments first.

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

The neck board just supplies the grid, heater, and gun. It won't effect the geometry of the tube. Also before any yoke adjustments let me verify that you've tried horizontal / vertical adjustmets first. Since this is a different yoke from your original it might be a little different (doner yoke...

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

Sorry. Just noticed that. I would try to push the yoke a little closer to the tube if you can (with the power off) and see if it will straighten it out. You can use the magnets to adjust the corners, but I would try and make sure your yoke is in the right position first.

How to fix this distortion on the display? Picture inside.

There are some magnets on the yoke that adjust the geometry of the tube. I would assume snce the top right is out if alignment you'll need to adjust the magnet that is in the same quadrent. (I.e. the one on the top left looking fro the rear of the tube)

Probably a little above mine too, but just to check. How is the 5v on other places on the board? Is it just low at the floppy drive? Are you testing the voltage at the drive, header pins, or at the inductors that feed the drive? Is the low voltage with the drive plugged into the board? If so...

Your welcome! Yeah. I would replace all the electrolytics (power supply and motherboard). Only reason i said the motherboard first is because you said everything else was working fine. It only takes one bad cap to pull a line down. I would replace all electrolytics in the system and clean...

Don't know much about the iifx. Saying that.... it sounds like everything else is working except the floppy's 5v. I know everyone says it, but since you didn't address it in your description. Have you replaced the electrolytic caps on the motherboard? A bad cap could be pulling down your 5v...

    Apple IIe Resistor

That's just a dcap (not a resistor) . That wouldn't prevent it from booting. Most issues I've found with 2e's have been ram related (4164's)

LCIII Recap - Apple design fault -47uF reversed!

I can confirm you have to change the polarity of c22. It's -5 rail and for some reason the mask has you putting it on backwards. They must have installed the cap reverse of what the mask says or used a bipolar cap at the factory. It would have never worked otherwise. Saying that... it's...

    IIGS high speed scsi

Congrats! It's a must have for the IIGS! That and a Bluescsi (or your favorite - zigzagjoe's tinyscsi is amazing too!) makes loading things a breeze.

SE/30 subject to analog board recap but decided not to...

You can confirm that by just tugging (lightly) on the anode wire (with the machine off, obviously). You will feel the resistence from the cap if it's secure in the tube.

SE/30 subject to analog board recap but decided not to...

Yeah. It sounds like you didn't plug the yoke back in correctly, or you might have fractured solder joints the connector. It's a 4 pin connector on the top left of the board (closest to the monitor). You'll find it under right under the capacitors an inductors right there.
