    Rediscovering my old obsession

I found at least the binaries on macintoshgarden! Definitely worth a look.

    Rediscovering my old obsession

I'll see what I can find! Any peek into source code would be useful, or if I can find a executable for System 7, maybe I'll figure out how to write a filter as you mentioned. Though TBH the only reason BBEdit or TeachText don't cut it is twofold: neither in system 7 know anything about...

    Rediscovering my old obsession

Say more about that? I thought about BBEdit and custom syntax (BBEdit 4.5 is already 99% of what envision) but I didn't see a way to do it. I've not heard Alpha as a text editor. I see the wikipedia article and it even should have source code available somewhere (though that seems to be broken)...

    Rediscovering my old obsession

What a fabulous notion! I wish I’d done something like that. They’re teens now and fighting the screen is real. Old computers are glorious in their focused constraint and lack of distraction. I consider doing actual work on my Se/30 to be almost meditative in comparison. I want to code a...

Good size 68k FB Marketplace haul

If that prince of Persia still has the manual I’d buy it. I know you can find all this stuff online but I like the box.

Colour Classic AB / LCD upgrade project and more

Really cool to see this unfold! TIL that the Macintosh Garden is accessible via Netscape… maybe it would be worth getting my SE/30 online.

Operation : PewPew! A new game for 68040 and soon... 68030

Thank you for sharing the source code. The comments are fabulous and are really going to help me learn. In a past life I made a side shooter in Java but that was so long ago and I'm not familiar with the MacToolbox. This is going to be a blast… or rather a PewPew

Operation : PewPew! A new game for 68040 and soon... 68030

I'd forgotten that perhaps the version matters… :P I'll get 7.1 running on my SE/30 and vMac and use 5.5 to see if that helps, can't wait to try it out! Would you be able to share on Github? I want to write a markdown editor for my own use and will share eventually.

Operation : PewPew! A new game for 68040 and soon... 68030

This is just the kind of stuff I was hoping to see, someone writing software just for funsies! I can't seem to unstuff the archive, though. I run into this issue a lot with vMac — I'm using StuffIt Deluxe 3, does the version even matter? I'd love to see the source code as I want to jump into...

gb6: game boy emulator for System 6

Wow playable or not, this is really impressive, and I learned a few things from the whole discussion.

    Revived a Quicksilver G4

There was a fair bit of gunk on the board, maybe mostly dust, but I've gathered it wise to recap anything more than ~20 years old from the forums. Either way, It was easy to source them with the help of Console5.com. The only caps I didn't replace are the tantalums and the ones on the CPU board...

    Revived a Quicksilver G4

After I pulled one of the pads I wasn't sure if I could bring this dusty beast back to life… but I bodged a tiny wire to the copper lead and it chimed after a full recap!

Fixing the floppy drive of a Macintosh SE without dying

FWIW I came into all this Mac resurrection just a few months ago knowing little to nothing, got super afraid of offing myself with voltage but took all the precautions I could, following the alligator clip disharge every single time I unplug. And now I work back there like I'm cleaning a fish...

Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

I joined the party too late, it seems. I'd really like to pick up one of these but it appears that the two makers have moved on. Registering my interest here all the same, in case more show up.
