install Conflict Catcher, should help you figure out what's causing After Dark to be slow. It helped me figure out that one of my Open Transport extensions went bad
no reason why it shouldn't work without a math coprocessor, I'd check the voltages, and if everything's good there, open it and look for capacitor leakage and battery leakage

if the color classic works without it, it's probably just a capacitor between one of the voltage rails and ground to make sure it isn't below a certain nominal voltage
if the capacity is reported wrong, then the battery's cooked. Solution is to either replace the cells of the battery, which are just 18650s, or buy a new battery if soldering batteries scares you
