    1bit games with music

Apache Strike - it loops a single tune, but even al these years later, the tune is burned into my memory. Beyond Dark Castle has music at certain points in the gameplay, but not all the time. Cairo Shootout? I can't remember, but I vaguely recall it does. Dungeon of Doom might?

    MacIPRpi beta release 6.02

So does this require netatalk to already be installed, or just (Mac)FUSE?

Would someone with a Quadra 700/900/950 be willing to test a program for me?

If you make those updates, it's probably a good idea to emit a version tracking number at the start of the output, so it's obvious from screenshots which version of ASCTester is being run ;)

    New Project: Prodigy 040/060 Card

First step is always MACSBug, which even lets you load in custom additions to automate whatever you want. If the learning curve is too steep there, Jasik's Debugger is a good secondary debugger that has all the bells and whistles. The Codewarrior debugger is mostly limited to processes with...

    New Project: Prodigy 040/060 Card

@Arbee I somehow missed that page when doing https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wB2HnysPp63fezUzfgpk0JX_b7bXvmAg6-Dk7QDyKPY/ -- I should probably add in your build dates and version numbers. And you're right, the ROM ID is a much better place to start than the Gestalt ID -- the ROM ID will...

Legacynth: Sound Driver emulation for PPC Macs

Check out https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wg45xflCn8MAPvE0H4un7OmbavRNW5qlSHbeZg39Q9A/ -- I've outlined games that have audio issues when running in OS 9; those would be good likely targets to test (and please update the spreadsheet if you find that Legacynth fixes the issues!)

    OpenHarry - Teaser

I remember staging some live levels a long time ago. It isn't quite as fun to play in real life -- gets really tiring.

Operation : PewPew! A new game for 68040 and soon... 68030

Have you tried it on System 7.1 yet? That tends to have a bit more head room than 7.5.5.

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

I guess the other option is: boot into System 7 and see if the problem goes away.

Were these machines always so painful? Maybe I'm misremembering, or maybe age hasn't been kind to them.

Is the SD adapter performant enough to match 166? You're going to need something at least at a UHS-I class to get 100MB/sec transfer speeds (compared to ATA/166 speeds of 166MB/sec). Most of the adapters I've seen are IDE to SDHC, which is usually 25MB/sec read and 10MB/sec write. That's a...

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

Well, we know that the game doesn't usually have a problem with the trap table or system image, so either the pointer is pointing at the wrong location in memory, or *something* has messed with the memory contents. Possibly the app itself has got corrupted somehow?

Macintosh Personal Color, a Fantasy 1986, 68000 Mac with a 4bpp Color Mode (Emulator)

I really need to add AMS to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1us6SCBgVs8NqbxofJXTmHDeK3nKQJpcgya2nWC9_t2w/edit?gid=0#gid=0 -- I have to admit, I haven't played around with it enough yet. Then again, I don't have Executor or MACE in that list either. But the lines between hardware...

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

Interesting... so the same error, "Undefined A-Trap at 003477FE KevAppIsRunningCopyOfThisApp__FP19ProcessSe..." for both. Interestingly, in the second case, the IP is sitting at MOVE.W (A7)+,D0 at the address in question. In the first case, it seems to be failing before that address is read at...

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

The viewing map may have been a custom build actually; Stuart was actively developing it at the time and fed us a few non-official versions. Either that or it was a very complex brain plugin, but it seems to me that would have been a lot of work. It was definitely the game window and not the...

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

Playing Bolo on a 9" screen was an art form -- limiting everyone to a small visible playing field tended to affect strategy quite a bit. A lot more sneaking up through the forest happened; personally, I found it more enjoyable than everyone on 24" colour monitors with brains aware of...

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

Hah... we used to have Mac Plus LAN parties where running the slower hardware was part of the challenge! Then there'd be someone on the LAN with a faster Mac and larger screen acting as the spectator's lounge so that those who'd already lost could watch the rest of the game in more comfort.

    Damaged classic mac to pokedex

Fun! Since the original case is already a wash, why not dress it up with a theme? Run it with At Ease so Hypercard can be in kiosk mode, and you've got a fun little piece to take to conferences :)

    TWAIN (film) Scanning

I think I recall a similar thing. Most likely, since the base logic is the same, and they both use SANE, the only difference is that the Perfection uses USB instead of SCSI, but the protocol is unchanged.

    TWAIN (film) Scanning

As an owner of a Perfection that can use a frame, I find this fascinating. I wonder how much logic they carried over from the FilmScan to the Perfection? I do know the software for the Perfection allows creation of randomly sized and placed frames.

    Bolo Crashing on Mac Classic

When you drop to MacsBug, what's the error that halts execution? Since I've had no issues with Bolo on other hardware, I suspect you've got some sort of niggling hardware error, and the crash report might shed light on what it is.
