Mine too, and It's good advice, but I've had my fill of RS232. I'm looking for something more involved; not for any good reason. I'd just like to take on a hardware and/or driver project. It's pretty intimidating to take the first step though.

Ok, thanks for the input regarding vs Apple vs SCSI Standard. I'll keep it in mind, but I don't think this thread needs to go in that direction. I'm still curious about this... ... My brief look at SCSI makes me think that I should be able to implement it with a microcontroller. Am I way off...

I've had an eMate for well I don't know. I got it new after they discontinued, so 10 years? I've used it for many things, and am quite fond of it. I do think the HWR is a bit questionable. Not sure why this is. I think it's more the ergonomics than the software since the 2x00 do so well...

How much memory do you have in it? Upgrading it should speed some things up, including the startup time of some larger apps.
