Pretty much process of elimination.  I have to admit that the issue with the inductor was my own fault...but more on that in a bit.  The main part that failed was the 50mhz clock, which was my original thought (that one of the clocks was bad).  But I wasn't sure, so I replaced the transistors...

Finally figured it out the other week-had an inductor that also needed replacing.  It's nice to have the card up and running again, at a resolution of 1024 X 768 in glorious 256 shades of grey:

@krishnadraws- I can tell you from experience that the SE/30 will run up to Photoshop 4 (Photoshop 5 and above requires a power mac) reasonable well, but to run 4 you'll definitely want more RAM.  Actually, you'll want more RAM anyways!  There was a seller who was (I think still is?)selling...

That's nice looking Mac Plus setup!  I grew up with an original Macintosh 128k that we had upgraded to a whopping 512k.  My parents used to work at a local computer store and bought it about 1986 or so for a steep discount:  $1000, and that included an image writer I printer.  Alas, it got sold...

I use Lido 7 to partition my drives.  In my SE/30 I am currently using a SCSI2SD converter with a 16gb micro SD card that I have partitioned into 4 4gb slices.  Works great!   And it sure is nice to have the space.

@joshc Hey, a network card is still a good find!  And certainly worth a few $$ if you want to sell it on eBay.  Of course, it would be lovely to buy an SE/30 and find a Daystar accelerator plugged into the CPU slot!

     Last week while I was on eBay looking for old macs I came across an auction with 20 different old Macintosh computers, most of them compact macs- and a few of them SE/30's.  The total for the auction was $640 and you had to go to Iowa to pick them all up!       Long and short of it nobody...

Awesome!  I bought a IIci last year with a Sonnet 040 in it as well, although I didn't do quite as good as you did-it cost me $200.  However, the IIci was running!
