Looking to replace my onboard SCSI chip and have a question.

@Verault -how did you make out with this? I am currently working on another SE/30 board; I've recapped it and it all works well....except for the SCSI part. Without a doubt, the chip has to be replaced. Were you able to find a PLC-44 SCSI chip that works?

Yahoo Japan/Buyee major score- SE/30 with extras

@ArmorAlley -Other than the drivers for the Grand Vimage 24-16s Interware video card (which I've posted to the Macintosh Repository), I've never been able to find the drivers for any of the interware accelerators. They must be out there somewhere, but no luck so far! @olePigeon -I haven't had...

Yahoo Japan/Buyee major score- SE/30 with extras

So the other week I bid on an SE/30 from Yahoo Japan. I new that it had a video card in it, but I didn't know what it was. It just came today; and not only does it have an Interware VDR-2j video card in it, but it also has an Interware 68030 50Mhz pass-through accelerator! I don't think the...

@micheledipaola - if you're interested, here is an Interware Booster 30-50f for sale on Yahoo Japan: https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/g1023724478?conversionType=search_suggest_history

    Interware Booster 30-50F

@micheledipaola -I was gonna say, that looks like a card for one of the LC's! I have a CV 40-40 Interware Booster myself; somewhere I have the cache card for it. But yea, that connector on the back of it is indeed a cache memory connector.

    Interware Booster 30-50F

@micheledipaola -Sounds good! It looks like Interware made several 680x0 boosters; I also have an Interware 30-33f booster from them (that would need an adapter to work with an SE/30) that unfortunately doesn't work.

    Interware Booster 30-50F

@micheledipaola -Sorry it took so long for me to reply! Basically, all I did was plug it in....and it works! In a machine like a IIci, you can just plug it into the PDS slot and it should work just fine. With the SE/30. you'll need an adapter, such as a Daystar, Twinspark, or one of Bolle's...

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

I wish the only thing this drive needed was a re-cap, that'd be a lot easier than trying to find this gear!

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

Ugh....I guess glue might be my only option. Unless maybe somehow I could make a mold of the gear and cast it......

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

Hello Everyone! I was curious as to if anyone has had any luck with this. In the mean time, the other idea I had to fix my gear was to use UV cured glue-it might work? We'll see!

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

@jessenator- Thanks! I've never done any 3d printing myself (at some point I'll buy one). But yea, I'd guess you'd need a very small nozzle because of the tiny size of the gear. If necessary, I can take a better picture of it for you. @mattsoft- It could be. I actually do have another...

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

@mattsoft -It's interesting that you say that because I have the exact same problem with mine. And I'm sure that the LED's aren't burnt out because I tested them.

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

Yea, that's what i was worried about! It's such a tiny gear....every gear that has 12 teeth that I've seen for sale has a minimum diameter of 7mm....just a bit to big to replace this gear. I wonder if I could change some of the gears and simply use a slightly different setup.....

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

Hey @mattsoft- It is the gear in the picture with my original post! Teeny tiny little thing that sits on a drive motor; I've attached a picture of where it goes to this post. It sound like we are doing the same thing to our AppleCD SC drive; I just got finished replacing all of the caps on the...

Drive gear needed for an AppleCD SC

Hello everyone! I've been working on restoring an AppleCD SC external scsi drive and I've hit a snag. Long and short of it, the eject/drive intake does not work. And the reason is that the drive gear on the eject/intake motor is cracked. It is a small, 4.4mm 12 tooth nylon gear. I've...

    Macintosh SE/30 metal parts

You could use either a wire wheel or a wire brush to remove the corrosion down to the bare metal.  If that doesn't work well enough, you could also try sanding it with some fine sand paper (I'd probably start with something like 100 grit.).  After you've cleaned it up, you could then apply a...

    Interware Booster 30-50F

@tommijazz91-Thanks!  In addition the the 30-50F, I also just won an Interware CV 40-40 booster that should show up here in a few weeks.  When it does and I get around to testing it, I will definitely make a post about it!  In the meantime, I would be curious to know if anyone else here has an...

    Interware Booster 30-50F

So I've been browsing/buying Mac stuff on Yahoo Japan for over a year now, and I have to say it is amazing how much old Mac stuff is routinely for sale on it!  My latest item that I bought is this:  an Interware 68030 accelerator, with the original box.....for only $100!  Well, at least that was...

HOW TO DOWNLOAD LARGE FILES FROM THE WEB

I have a method for moving big files that usually works well, but like all of the other ones here, it does require a few steps.  Also, your receiving computer will have to have a SCSI2SD drive.                                                   1.)  Download the file using the computer of your...
