@Kevinlenane - I have one in my SE/30, and I use to run both a Daystar 68030 50mhz accelerator and a Interware Grand Vimage video card. Hope that helps!
@joshc -If I could get one for a reasonable price, I would love to own one! I actually almost had one a few years ago. It was in an SE/30 that was up for sale on Buyee if I remember correctly; the final bid was about $355!
Probably won't see a deal like that ever again......
I've got an Interware Grand Vimage 24-16s. It doesn't do internal greys, but it does do millions of colors on an external monitor. Plus, it's accelerated! And I got it for a fraction of what this is going to go for.
Welp, the good news is that it works. The bad news is that it works somewhat ......it has a fair amount of "jitter" when you try to draw with it. In other words, it is just about impossible to draw a straight line with the thing. I've tried it on two different machines-an se/30 running 7.5.5...
@defor- welp, I downloaded and installed the drivers....and it works! I was surprised that for the most part, it works like my modern Wacom tablet. I haven't tried drawing anything with it yet, so that will be the ultimate test!
Another Micron Xceed grey scale video card for the SE/30 for sale, possibly a MacroColor 30? I'm sure the final selling price will be way over my budget!
Looks like everything is there, including the neck board and the harness...
@olePigeon -Thanks! I found this; we'll see if it works: https://www.macintoshrepository.org/24046-calcomp-wiz-tablet-for-macintosh
Also, attached is a .sit of the Japanese version of the installation software.
@tsundoku @finkmac -I wasn't aware of that. I assumed-at least when I first saw it, before I bought it- that it was something akin to one of my Wacom tablets. So basically, this does what my old Palm Pilot did with handwriting, except in Japanese, which is pretty cool itself!
Still, even...
@LaPorta -Isn't it cool??!! I could do some really cool artwork with my old machines with this thing!
@finkmac -I have extracted the drivers from the disks, but unfortunately I have not gotten them to work, even after using several different Mac O.S.'s.
@tsundoku-I would definitely...
Hello All!
I bought this on Buyee Japan a little while back. As you can see, it's basically a Wacom tablet for your classic Macintosh. I've been trying to get it to work with either one of my SE's or SE/30's, but with no luck. The good news is that it did come with driver disks...
Very nice! I saw that auction go off as well. If you don't already have one, you will definitely like the VDR-2a. Besides being able to do millions of colors, it is also one of the most compatible video cards (in its ability to play nice with accelerators and adapters for the SE/30) that I...
Hey everyone! I recently won an Interware VDR-1A video card. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the video out cable that attaches to the card. Does anybody have a pinout diagram of the cable, or just a picture of one so that I can make a cable for this card? Thanks!
@jasa1063 -I've seen that other Diimo 030 on Buyee for about a year now...I wondered who got it! The seller was originally trying to get something like $1200 for it. Good score:cool:
It depends on how many things got taken out when the Maxell battery exploded. It might be possible to salvage, but unfortunately it's not gonna be easy.
@joshc -Thanks! I've never actually seen a manual for one of the xceed cards in the wild before. Too bad it didn't actually come with an Xceed MacroColor 30
My guess would be yes. I have a Radius 16Mhz Accelerator in one of my SE's with and 800k drive; I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work with a 1.44Mb onw.
So a few weeks back I bid on and won an Interware VDR-1A video card from Buyee. But the real interesting thing.....at least to me-is that it came in an original Micron Xceed box, and came with all of the supporting documentation for a Micron Xceed MacroColor 30 card! This includes the original...
