That won't work, because the SCSI2SD configuration also provides multiple virtual drives on one SD card by offsetting them in the image. The virtual drives start at different areas of the image.

The image comes with a configuration, so it's easy to image onto an SD card with Etcher and apply the configuration with the scsi2sd utility. However, if you are not using a SCSI2SD, it will probably be easier to install from the CD, since the image is tailored for the scsi2sd configuration...
