Good to know on those caps and PRAM battery. Will have to find some time to replace those. As far as power supply, I got fortunate (maybe) on this one that it came with an aftermarket model. Seems to work okay for now. Will probably still investigate after I go through the PowerBook.

1MB would be perfect as it would (if I remember correctly from when I looked into this years ago) allow the full video buffer to load into L2 instead of main RAM (when using onboard video). This leaves the PDS slot open for other things like PC Card, etc.

I picked up a new in box USB 1.1 card. The picture on the box had the correct CMD chip but when I opened the packaging the card had a different CMD chip (totally different numbers and square shape instead of rectangle).

We’re you able to identify a supply of the CMD chips?

As someone with a Wallstreet, I agree it’s very temperamental. Couple of ideas: Make sure RAM is decent quality. Confirm that metal cover plate over CPU is screwed down all the way as I believe that’s how CPU dissipates heat. For OS 9, I believe I did a retail 9 install then updated to 9.0.4...
