Haven't done much with the OrangePC card in awhile. I'm currently on the lookout for a Sound Blaster card that's more in line with the 486 processor on the card (the AWE64 card I have works, but I agree with Byrd's previous assessment that the drivers are just too complex for DOS 6.1/Win 3.1)...
Uninstalled PP 4.0 using Microsoft's Office Manager. Kept the ClipArt images (they work in 3.0) and some templates. IIfx doesn't seem to be crashing anymore.
Office 4.2.1 was the last version of MS Office to be supported on a 68k Mac. Can't go any higher than that on the IIfx (next Office edition was 98, which required a PPC processor).
I think I have the highest revision for 4.2.1 (my installer came with the "b" revision).
I had someone else's...
I was able to find a sealed complete copy of Microsoft Office 4.2.1 on eBay awhile back. Not the most popular version of MS Office for the Mac by any means, but I wanted to have a clean install of this version to replace a previous owner's butchered version on my IIfx.
The main problem I've...
Maybe its your monitor? I had the same issue with a 19" LaCie Electron Blue III CRT using my 8.24GC card and High-Res card. There was a fault somewhere in the monitor.
Yeah I think the TNG one is from '94. I don't have that one, but I doubt it should make much of a difference.
I also have the Disney release from '93.
Were there any other screensaver programs for 8.1?
Tried installing my original boxed copy of Star Trek - TOS After Dark on my IIfx running OS 8.1.
The installation itself went fine. However, the control panel for After Dark doesn't seem to do anything (can't switch it on or off/can't program the screensaver to activate at a desired time/can't...
This has probably been asked a million times and I'm guessing the answer is no, but I'm curious to know if there was any attempt by Apple or a third-party developer to offer some form of PowerPC expandability for the 68030 IIfx?
Has anyone been successful in getting PowerPC software to run on...
SoftWindows sucks anyway. I ran Version 1.0.2 on my IIfx - the 486 OrangePC card is far better in terms of performance and has a far less memory footprint than Insignia’s software.
I still have all the parts for my Duo 230 - it's just that the plastics for the screen (along with the screen itself) are FUBAR.
Yes, I have a couple of the HDI-to-SCSI adapters for the PB series.
I can change the internal SCSI HD's ID in my IIfx with Silverlining 5.7 or I can connect the Duo...
I have two working 2.5" SCSI drives from my 160 and Duo 230. The objective is to transfer whatever content is on these drives to my IIfx. The 160 was sold sometime ago (screen was shot and so were the plastics) and my Duo 230 is in pieces.
I've seen some homebrew SCSI 2.5" to 3.5" adapters...
OEM HP toners that are over 20 years old seem to be prone to smearing right out of the box. I've been experiencing that with the 95A cartridges used in the IINT.
My IINT is all original and is not plagued by electrical issues. Can't speak for the earlier Personal LWs (I've only owned the later...
I don't know either. You'd think with all the real estate that's on the card Orange Micro would have etched in the model number somewhere.
So I'm guessing this is a hard pass?
