I think the oxidation you see has another source. The SE logic board doesn't have any of those leaking SMD capacitors, the axials you see normally don't leak. Doesn't hurt to replace them though, capacitance will be nowhere rated, and ESR will start creeping up... SE logic boards usually die due...

And slow it is... First bits and pieces are starting to arrive! A set of 6 potmeters for the video board, and a NOS power button/keyboard plug, with spare light bulb. Didn't really needed the last one, but seller only wanted to sell as a package, and wasn't expensive anyway...

You'll really have to get into those "Lisa" communities if you want any chance of getting your hands on the parts you need. Those parts pop up on ebay every so often, but either at ridiculous asking prices, or they simply get bid up very high if there are a few people with a Lisa with just that...

I just wants to know which nerd expects a 30+ years old computer to work as it did when leaving the dealer (does not look into mirror :ROFLMAO: ) Seems those resistors are just fine right up till the caps start spilling their guts! But yeah, can't ever recall coming across painted resistors...

It might be the "painted" resistors. On mine they are degrading, even after the mainboard got recapped and everything got thouroughly cleaned with ipa and distilled water. The portable still boots, but is saying the battery is low, and then most of the times will shut off, eventhough voltage on...

Just FYI, I too have Lisa (2/10) with nothing on the CRT. Pretty much same as yours, no high voltage. Boot goes as expected from the beeps, the "no keyboard/mouse" beeps, followed by the "no data from the drive" beeps which is to be expected from the widget drive. I managed to source a...

And done! Looks like it didn't leak, actually, the battery looks brand spanking new! There is however some corrosion, though not directly underneath the battery, most seems to concentrate on de power connector. Gotta clean that up to stop it deteriorating further. So, the area underneath...

And since the title also states "collection", some pics from the new shelves I assembled (which I by now can do in record time, eat this Ikea). Lots of stuf which was in sort of "permanent storage" will become much more accesible to play with, and keep in shape, this way!

Well, I do have several of the soldered on Varta's in SE's still bang on 3.6V! And usually they do not tend to leak... Still, the do get the immediate snip, why take the risk!
