For a hot second, I could get into a Gmail account, but that hasn't been an option for a good while. I've tried a bunch of other Email providers too, and older Email programs can't get into those either. Even if there was a less secure provider, I could just forward things to that and get them...
SMTP relay? I'll have to look into that. I miss the days where I would/could read and answer Emails on my Palmtop, then sync it later. No modern Email client has the ability to talk to a Palmtop, so it'll have to be an older machine, with an unsupported Email client. I just want it to work. :[
I reserve macOS 8 and beyond for PowerPC, I never got 8 running well on a 68k Mac. I'm also interested in any differences in the point releases on a 68k Mac.
I've done something similar, and quite a bit lower budget. The normal fan blows air out through the bottom, but if you flip the fan it'll blow air into the case, but it also makes it much louder. I angled the fan backwards and made a duct out of tape. Bringing air into the case alone cools...
With my own, I did the 33Mhz overclock because it was easy to do, just swap 2 component positions and it's done, put a small heat sink on the processor and it's all good. I also installed a new fan and flipped it upside down, the fan normally pulls air out of the bottom of the chassis, now it...
I used MintPPC on a G5 many years ago, it was actually pretty slick. At the time, it had the most up to date web browser, it ran DosBox better than OS X could, but I don't think it had any GPU acceleration at all, which makes sense for Linux.
I'll look into it this evening if I can find the time. Looking at the files/config, I think I know how it's supposed to be used, but I wouldn't turn my nose at any advice.
Update on this, I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong, but it's still not working. The routing is working because every time I change a port or to/from IP I get a different error, possibly the cert is wrong but I'm unsure. I've tried Gmail, Yahoo and ProtonMail, none of them like it.
Anyone know if this still works, or will work? I've tried it, but I think I'm doing something wrong. Trying to receive mail on a Gmail account so I can sync them all to my Palm Pilot.
The combination of using an iron and one of those handheld solder suckers worked well, and some flux, and a LOT of patience. I kinda want to swap out the clock crystal and see what it will do, maybe bump it up to 33Mhz, but it's still on a 16Mhz bus so I doubt it'll be worth it if it works.
Necropost, I too have one of these, but it had a 68LC040 on it. I took the time to remove it, installed a full 68040, and it took just fine, FPU works and everything. I thought about adding a socket to the board, but there is absolutely no room in there. It's neat to see one with a full 68040...
I never figured out why it does this. Yes, the Sonnet card was a Tempo. I eventually settled on a dual USB card, just to get USB support.
I can't give up this card, I recently found the appropriate software for it, so the Mac joystick passthrough works so I can play Mechwarrior 3 with my Gravis...
I have a 25Mhz accellerator for an LCII and it's bad, I also have a Quadra 605 overclocked from 25Mhz to 33Mhz. I also have a 33Mhz 030, and I've tried Doom on all of these. I also know that programs have an issue running at 512 x 384, so I need this FVGA program to kinda fake a 640x480 mode...
Tried it, runs great, no issues observed. The credit card-style keys and the physical key door blocks took me a second. I only had enough time to blitz through 3 levels, good work!
I clicked the Kickstarter link, but there's no mention of funding, is all I mean.
I've only heard about some of the things people went through to get physical releases of new-old games. Sounds crazy, but extremely novel.
