@joshc I use RealBasic 3.5.2 for 68k compilation, RealBasic 5.5.2 for PPC OS9 and under compilation, RealBasic 2007 R3 for the Universal Binary and Windows compilation. It can be a little tricky getting things working in a way where the app runs under all three versions and isn't cumbersome to...
@mg.man glad to hear you got it working! It is a shame RealBasic apps are a bit inefficient, however although it's still not ideal you can drop the memory requirements down to 2400k and it will run fine. I'll update that with the next release. A control strip item would be fantastic, I'm not...
Thanks @PB170! I'm currently looking at the UI issue for monochrome displays so will hopefully have a fix out for that soon. Regarding the networking problem, do you have a full installation of Open Transport?
Thanks for trying it out @mg.man! I'm not sure what's causing the connectivity issues, I can get it running ok in 7.5.3. Any chance you could please send me some screenshots of the extensions and control panels you have enabled?
Hello!
I've just built and released a new weather application for Mac OS and Windows. It runs on System 7 - Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan and Windows 98 - XP.
For those interested it was built with RealBasic and connects to Open-Meteo through a proxy server.
You can download it here, please let me...
@Kouzui @Nixontheknight is correct, I've just checked and LegacyAI requires MacinTalk 3 to be installed. The specific files/folders it expects to be in the extensions folder are the "MacinTalk 3" extension, and the "Voices" folder. I'll update the readme in the next release.
Hahaha not good...
@Kouzui the later releases require Mac OS speech libraries to be installed and it's likely not finding this on your system. Try opening Extension Manager and checking whether any of the speech extensions are disabled, and re-enable them. Let me know if you're still having trouble after this...
I was mucking around with my 1400c today and came across something interesting. I installed 8MB system RAM and 2x 32MB expansion cards.
To begin with my system would crash on startup until I disabled extensions. After booting into the system it recognised that 80MB RAM was present! (8MB onboard...
@MBongo at Mac OS 9 Lives has a fantastic capacitor list/diagram they compiled for the AcBel PSU. Mine had leaking caps and that was beginning to cause all sorts of power related problems.
Yes that appears correct.
- "ROM revision" I believe is the revision of the boot firmware located on the Pismo's ROM chip.
- "Boot ROM Version" is the boot firmware version of the machine.
- "Mac OS ROM file version" is the version of the Mac OS ROM file located in the System Folder.
I don't...
I've done this with my MDD and wrote about it here. I'm not sure if the steps will be exactly the same, but be very careful and only do this if you have to
I'm glad you found the problem. OSX installations must utilise a lot of memory because I've had this happen many times and the problem has always been faulty RAM.
Is it possible to loosen the screen hinges without replacing them? I have a 1Ghz Ti where the hinges have started to stiffen up while it's in use, to the point where I can't close the lid until it cools down.
Does anybody still have Thomas McQuitty's modified OS9 Belkin drivers for the Netgear MA101 Wifi bridge?
There's not many references about this anymore but he wrote a guide on modifying the OSX drivers here, but doesn't mention the required OS9 modifications.
Low End Mac and an old Apple...
