oh i didnt get it working, the software legacy cd said that files are missing, cant be read, or other errors that wont install. so have to try different options

i am wondering, since i did the overclock chip mod, would that be causing the issue with the gestalt id? since it's no longer a 25mhz but a 33 mhz and i have the jumper on it to think its a quadra series

i am still having issues, as in the legacy software cd says i need to use the "mac os install" app which i cant find anywhere. also if i use the net install.scr i get a (159) error. i might yet resort to the wishiwere app

interesting since my quantum drives (40mb in my mac classic, 160mb from my performa 475, the 1gb from my 7500 and both my avid 5" tall 9gb drives) all work great still to this day.

i'm doing a full low level format with the disc right now on an Avid 9GB external scsi and hopefully i should be able to install 8.1 on it. i tried earlier but it was saying that i needed to use the "Install Mac OS" installer instead of hunting through the folders to try to install 8.0 first

everything i threw at that drive aka fwb, hd setup, even threw it in my mdd with a scsi card and they all said the drive was dead. i even tried all the tools at my disposal for os x to even look at the drive and nothing. so now i have a seagate hawk paperweight

UPDATE found out the drive was dead to begin with so was in talks with the seller to see if a replacement can be found.
