Did you reseat the ROM in the right way? There must be two pins free at one side of the rom holder. A checkerboard can be a result of a faulty rom.

Did you measure the 12 & 5 V voltages at the floppy port? 5 V should be higher than 4.85V for booting a classic.

SCSI2SD and BlueSCSI can be powered by the SCSI bus. Only with a mac plus (without the diode mod) you need external power.

MacIP or A2Server can be solutions with a raspberry pi. But you need a locatalk/ethernet bridge (software or hardware). Otherwise you can use a scsi to ethernet device, if you can find one. The classic II has no expansion slot. So I do not know of an inside solution.

5V should be 4.85 or higher. Then the classic will boot. You could turn pp1 on the analog board, but you have to look at the 12 V too.

Repair video: I tried this with some drives and could rescue about 50%. But I do not trust these drives. Do not use them for important data!

Are the ABs recapped? Could be a problem with the voltages (5 & 12 V). You could check them at the floppy port.
