I believe @rabbitholecomputing has talked to the speed of the ZuluSCSI, it's very nice, but slightly slower than the V6 scsi2sd. I used a V6 in my 7500 until I switched to a PCI RAID card which is absurdly fast.

I usually use system 6 instead of 7 for MT32 stuff. Looks like you had that issue in 7.5.x? System 6 seems to do well; Sometimes I swap out the normal MIDI extension for the Korg MIDI driver extension if I'm using a 05/RW.

It should. All the Opcode and Midiman stuff I have uses the same/standard cable as you would use for an ImageWriter II.

For my Pismo, I use a USB C to Ethernet adapter and an android cell phone. I could be curious about a standalone bridge but it works for me and takes up less space than a laptop (for example on Ubuntu you connect to wifi and then share that connection over ethernet).

I always consider running any SCSI device off termination power alone a modern blessing. I know it works in many/most cases, but if I install anything like a SCSI2SD internally in a machine I use the supplemental power whenever possible.

That's really the way to do it IMHO. What's funny that I just realized is that when MacOS 8 was current, it was my go to. Now it seems I only use 6,7, and 9... except my BeOS bootloader might be on a MacOS 8 partition. It's been a while.
