After taking a hairdryer to the board to troubleshoot, the board worked fine, and has continued to do so since.

As dochili said, this could be an issue with a new network device not seeing the Mac properly... ants had a same blinking green light - the culprit was that the card was unable to auto negotiate, so setting the device he was using to connect to 10 mbps half duplex manually allowed him to connect

Just took a hair dryer to the board, after heat, it starts right up! so, the ROMs are a likely culprit? Anything else that I should look over?

Interesting, I’ll give this a go.. sure seems like this problem could be really difficult to track down. Might start out with hair drying the board to see if it starts right up after that.

So, the SE board exhibits checkerboard for ~2 minutes, than beeps and all is well an SE/30 board has no issues in the same configuration, so I’m assuming the issue is found on the logic board

Put in a known good power supply from an SE/30, exhibits same issue. Analog board likely culprit?

Don’t have a scope, but I used an analog multimeter to double check against the DMM and the needle didn’t move

Voltages are 12.7 and 5.08, which seems fairly healthy.

I’ve had this issue on iPhone, I run it through preview on Mac and compress it a bit, uploads fine after.

Just curious, why is OpenWRT 18.06 required for this extension?

Have you seen the controllers like this one that can be reconfigured for numerous displays (including 5V vs 3.3v) through the use of jumpers? I'm no expert, but I *think* you can get away with a cheap, generic LVDS controller - no need to spend a lot of money on one tied to your specific...

Yeah that board stuck out like a sore thumb! I pushed it in a little but didn't want to push too hard. Does it need to go in further? I'm just paranoid about breaking the glass underneath the board. 

Yeah, I wasn't sure I had a long enough screwdriver... but I do! The hard drive is a Seagate ST-325N, looks like a 20MB disk.  Pretty obvious why the CRT is not turning on... really hoping it isn't cracked.  How do I reattach this without damaging myself or the glass? I know the CRT in these...
