Portable Hybrid: Looking for 3 US testers

After that last revision, I've made some more changes and order up the next batch of boards. Once they eventually arrive from overseas and they're tested good, I should have a lot more available. As for the finished design, I think it's nearly there...

Repairability of a specific Mac Portable

Interesting. I'll have to try that with one of mine. I'll admit, I've never actually tested either of mine because I wasn't sure if they were any good, so I just tossed them aside with the original Portable batteries.

Calling anyone with a working Color Classic and a Multimeter

It might actually just be a test pad rather than a via. I fiddled with mine a bit, and it seems more like a flat disc that just lifts right off the board.

Calling anyone with a working Color Classic and a Multimeter

I can't see anything missing from the schematic though. You have: R37 - Feedback Resistor R36 - Isolation Resistor C56 and C50 - Load Capacitors U7-3 and U7-4 - Out and In Y1 - Crystal Typically that's all you need to use a crystal like this.

Repairability of a specific Mac Portable

The M5120 is similar to the M5126, but differs slightly. So if you end up buying a kit for the M5120 for you would be missing the 4.7uF capacitor and would have some extras of other values. I'm sure you've already found this list, but here are the capacitors for the M5126: SMD Electrolytic: 4x...

Calling anyone with a working Color Classic and a Multimeter

Right, it is likely connected from the blind via to the via you can see above R37. I don't see any reason why it would go anywhere else.

Calling anyone with a working Color Classic and a Multimeter

Sorry, I thought we were talking about the right side connection of C56. That one is a blind via, so it's hard to tell, but I'm guessing it goes to R37 since there doesn't seem to be anything else connecting it.

Calling anyone with a working Color Classic and a Multimeter

It definitely appears to go to ground on my board. It does not appear to be a blind via either. I can see the two vias below C56 match up with the two under Y1. The blind vias appear to be plated/plugged.

    Schematics for Delta PSU

The A8 comes in both 12V and 5V, though I'd say the 5V is rarer/more difficult to buy accidentally.

Portable Hybrid: Looking for 3 US testers

I'm out of parts and money at the moment, but let me see if I can get an order in sometime soon. I'll try and send a DM once I can get the parts.

Backlit Portable: No boot, lines on display

I put a 470k resistor between battery voltage and the VREF, and now I get a stable 1.23V and ~5.2V no matter what I put the battery voltage at. Getting closer...

Backlit Portable: No boot, lines on display

You still have it? On mine it looks like the 1.2V reference varies based on battery voltage, which definitely should not happen. I replaced it which gave it a small boost, but it's still not stable. Right now I'm looking at op-amp output A which I haven't traced out but I'm guessing is a...

I only have priority mail envelopes and boxes at the moment, but I'll put you down for one and figure it out.

Portable Hybrid: Looking for 3 US testers

I'm looking for 3 US based people (I'd like to do international, but I don't have the money for it at the moment) who need a replacement hybrid for their M5120 Portable. I've been sitting on this design since the beginning of the year and I've just now decided to actually do something with it...

Backlit Portable: No boot, lines on display

I finally got it booting. I got frustrated and removed most of the RAM and logic ICs, cleaned, soldered, reflowed, and then reflowed again. Now it seems to work fine. Except... Now I have a strange issue with the 5V. I have to bring the battery voltage up to around 7.1V to get a stable 5V...

Backlit Portable: No boot, lines on display

Well I haven't made much progress, but it's at least back to the state where it tends to "stay on" for a bit. I checked most of the address and data lines, and none of them appear to be stuck. I managed to get a SadMac (00000014 0000CD36) for the first time by forcing SYS_RST high, but it's...
