Interesting. I'll have to try that with one of mine. I'll admit, I've never actually tested either of mine because I wasn't sure if they were any good, so I just tossed them aside with the original Portable batteries.

It might actually just be a test pad rather than a via. I fiddled with mine a bit, and it seems more like a flat disc that just lifts right off the board.

I can't see anything missing from the schematic though. You have: R37 - Feedback Resistor R36 - Isolation Resistor C56 and C50 - Load Capacitors U7-3 and U7-4 - Out and In Y1 - Crystal Typically that's all you need to use a crystal like this.

The M5120 is similar to the M5126, but differs slightly. So if you end up buying a kit for the M5120 for you would be missing the 4.7uF capacitor and would have some extras of other values. I'm sure you've already found this list, but here are the capacitors for the M5126: SMD Electrolytic: 4x...

Right, it is likely connected from the blind via to the via you can see above R37. I don't see any reason why it would go anywhere else.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about the right side connection of C56. That one is a blind via, so it's hard to tell, but I'm guessing it goes to R37 since there doesn't seem to be anything else connecting it.

It definitely appears to go to ground on my board. It does not appear to be a blind via either. I can see the two vias below C56 match up with the two under Y1. The blind vias appear to be plated/plugged.

The A8 comes in both 12V and 5V, though I'd say the 5V is rarer/more difficult to buy accidentally.

Have you tried the SCSI Manager 4.3 system extension?
