Powermac G4 MDD AIO Watercooling Concept/Project

It's not the leakage in AIOs, it's the lifespan, in a forum where people expect computers to work for decades!

    My Mad B&W G3 Setup!

He has another video on how to select ones that are less likely to fail:

Powermac G4 MDD AIO Watercooling Concept/Project

An SFX+ADC kit for the MDD would definitely be useful. I like to avoid liquids inside computers though, even sealed AIOs.

    My Mad B&W G3 Setup!

It has an early version of FireWire, but can’t boot from it.

    My Mad B&W G3 Setup!

I think an 8.6 machine specific install will fit on a Zip disk no problem. I'm not around the B&W to confirm that though.

Good stress test for overclocked G4s?

I like to use AltiVec Fractal Carbon on G4s: https://daugerresearch.com/fractals/altivecfractalcarbon.shtml

    Does anyone have a 667MHz or 800MHz Powerbook G4?

I’ve got one (667 dvi), but I’m traveling this weekend. I can help next week though! Would be neat if you could flash the 7500. Were there any 7500 Mobility AGP cards? Could be a low heat upgrade to the Cube.

    Studio Display CRT Adapter Help

I have one I built for sale, $70 plus shipping. Or if you just want the extra PCB, $15. Those are both close to cost when you consider the PCB and all the components and connectors. I gave away my ADC CRT so I can't re-test the VGA, but it did work when I had it. I didn't realize the startup...

    PB190 & System 7.1?

This does not answer your question, but the performa 630/640 requires 7.5 as well.

Good & reasonable HDMI scaler: Extron RGB-HDMI 300(A)

Ok I goofed with it some more and these settings work well for the Toby

Good & reasonable HDMI scaler: Extron RGB-HDMI 300(A)

I’ve been able to get an excellent image from my Cube at 640x480@60 and 1024x768@60, but the 640x480@67 Hz output from the Macintosh IIx I have not found good image settings for. Seems the extron is very confused about the total number of pixels coming in, and won’t let me set it to the very...

    Netatalk 4.0 - Future-proofing Apple File Sharing

I have lost data with filesystem EA before. You have to be very careful when copying it to other volumes, rsyncing, zipping, etc. It will lose it.

    How did the PowerPC 603 / 5200 at 75mhz compare to PC:s (486/Pentium)?

My sister had a 5200 as well. It was slow, it froze all the time. Worst computer or Mac ever.

Realtek RTL8139D PCI Network Card Compatible with a PowerMac 6500?

The RTL8139 PCI card does require drivers, it doesn’t work with built in. The CS II with digital 21040 works without drivers but is 10 megabit only. Not that you’ll get anywhere near 100 Mb/s with OpenTransport anyway. Read the bizarre caveats to the CS II recreations before purchasing one...
