    Color classic screen fritz

Can you elaborate on how you soldered them to the logic board? Did you reflow the solder on the clips or actually solder them to the chassis somehow?

    Color classic screen fritz

Now I’m trying to remember whether the tabs are on the logic board or in the chassis. Ultimately it’s whatever needs to be done to ensure a good grounding between logic board and chassis. .

    Color classic screen fritz

Try bending (to make better contact) the grounding tabs under the logic board. Cleaning them is a good idea also. I had recapped my cc analog board (lots of caps) and had some colour issues (missing Colors) after and it was those silly grounding tabs.

How to turn on a IIci PSU outside the computer?

That does look like a nice fix! As an aside, I had also replaced the small diodes and transistor on my soft power circuit, not sure it was necessary (and not saying it might be a factor for you) but it's crazy how much that cap goo spreads and what it eats. With regards to the continuous...

How to turn on a IIci PSU outside the computer?

I found the power circuit schematic you referenced to be fully accurate when I fixed my IIci. There were about three jumper wires I had to add. Note that pin 1 might between the chip and Apples markings on the logic board (I think and I can’t recall which defence is used by the schematic)...

I love your project write ups. This is super cool!

    RaSCSI Development Thread

No, no reason to start a new thread. I’m just trying to first confirm what WLAN support for Daynaport means. I am assuming you can plug RaSCSI into a computer and access your network over wifi (ie no Ethernet cable). For better clarity, plug RaSCSI into a PowerBook at your kitchen table with...

How to turn on a IIci PSU outside the computer?

You’ve got a ton of corrosion on UD13. I am betting there is a lot of cap too under there too. You’ll need to check continuity to all of the points suggested by the soft power schematic. Those chips are all still available and I would replace them but ultimately they may need to be cleaned...

How to turn on a IIci PSU outside the computer?

@olePigeon Check it connected to the motherboard. You should be able to find a way to jumper those pins and then attach the PSU. Just make sure it’s the right pins.

    RaSCSI Development Thread

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I had success downloading from an AppleShare server but uploading files (ie copying to a server) on Wifi had issues that I believe were timing related.

How to turn on a IIci PSU outside the computer?

It sounds like your PSU isn’t connected to the logic board when you short the pins though, is that correct? It should be otherwise I’m not sure what you’re testing. I am pretty sure you need to keep the pins shorted for the PSU to stay on (unlike an ATX). If that works then your PSU is likely...

    RaSCSI Development Thread

Does WLAN support mean you can use Pi’s wifi? Have you tried transferring AppleShare over AppleTalk? I had some issues with Scuznet AppleShare over AppleTalk over wifi but never went back to try to sort it out.

How to turn on a IIci PSU outside the computer?

It doesn’t start up when you press the power key on the keyboard, or when you short the PSU pins to turn it on, or both? I had to replace a few SMD diodes and ICs in my IIci soft power circuit to get it going.

SCSI to Ethernet Adapter on New Hardware

CD-ROM support is a great add! While there may be better ways to do it, I wonder if it would be fairly straightforward for one of our Mac programming gurus (@cheesestraws, @Scott Squires , @Crutch among them) to write a Mac App that would look for a Scuznet device, issue a custom scsi command...

    SE/30 screen very dim

I had an SE30 with a very dim image. I recapped the analog board and replaced the power supply, but that didn’t fix it. What did, was a transplanted good CRT from a Mac Plus.

    Classic upgrades

The only reason why Apple did it was to preserve their margins. The original Mac came out in 1984 and in 1990 when they introduced the Classic the increase in processor speed after six years was exactly zero. They could have bumped the Classic to 16mhz but they saw no reason to. Adding the...

    Classic upgrades

The main drawback is the Classic ii is still dog slow. The SE30 is probsbly twice as fast in regular usage for most tasks. Somebody did a YouTube video that shows them side by side and it feels worse in person. It’s ridiculous that Apple crippled the memory datapath in the Classic ii, lc ii...

SCSI to Ethernet Adapter on New Hardware

The overclocking angle is interesting! I did some tests of the (then?) current version a week or so ago trying out the nuvolink again - I tested on my PB 145B and got ~104kb/s down and 80kb/s up on Appleshare and about 100kbps with Fetch. I did get a freeze at shutdown. (I also had a freeze...

    Force32 Feature Request

Works great! Thank you!! Please use this thread as you see fit. Since requesting that update went really well and was turned around so quickly, my next feature request for Force32 would be to add on a web browser and a mail client that supports encryption. Please let me know when those...

SCSI to Ethernet Adapter on New Hardware

I had a chance to try the current firmware with the various fixes on Nuvolink emulation. On my SE/30 at least preliminary results seem to indicate pretty good stability. No crashes or other issues after transferring a 6mb file up and down via AppleShare and a 70mb file by ftp. Performance is...
