I wouldn't trust myself to build this successfully but if someone were doing the project and wanted to make an extra seasonic one, I'd be happy to pay for time + materials for one! 

There's also the Cloud 7 control panel from bbraun that lets you mount an HTTP disk. For future-proofing, HTTP web hosting is probably better than AFP-based NAS sharing, since Apple has stopped working on AFP and it's being deprecated in favor of SMB. Thus I'm not sure how much longer NAS...

Related question: just bought a 6360 in part because I wanted to swap my 640dos board in. Sounds like I messed up and that’s not possible... I knew something was fishy with 5v vs 3.3v stuff. Would it be doable if I just got a different psu or do you think I need a whole other enclosure?  Thanks

If you're hacking things up to get rid of heat, why not get an L88M mask 68040? They're built on a smaller process and are only warm to the touch and can be run without heatsinks. One of the best investments for old 68040 macs imo.

Regarding the IIcx adapter, I have a Daystar one that lacks an onboard 68030. Not sure if knowing this is useful in the investigation or if the Carrera IIcx adapter (or whatever that was earlier in thread) is supposed to be different. Interested to see where this thread leads.
