    PowerPC 601 Upgrade Card Software

Ok so I’ve been trying to test some apple branded PowerPC 601 cards in my Quadra 700. So far not much luck with the software. I have tried using this software from the garden https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/apple-power-macintosh-upgrade-card-installer-m2843lla But partway through the install...

announcing beigeATX for 10 pin PSU Macs

One thing I did run into was that the 3D case is a bit tight on my atx supply with the split connector I had to trim it a bit to make it fit. Not a big deal but anyhow.

announcing beigeATX for 10 pin PSU Macs

Well I’ll be, it never occurred to me to try this in my IIsi, it’s been dead for at least 15 years. I assumed it needed recapping etc to live again and never had the time. How bout that!! Fired right up, probably really should do that recapping now!

    General G3/G4 ZIF upgrade questions

I've never seen the card version of this only the zif direct. Was this ever actually sent into the wild? Or just marketing pictures. I know the non card version was actually made, although I can only confirm that a version compatible with the beige G3 was ever sold, supposedly they made or were...

    General G3/G4 ZIF upgrade questions

Powerlogix: XLR8: Newer Technology: IOData: Formac: These are the one's I'm aware of but there may be others. Figured I'd make a quick post with all the cards in one place, I don't think I've ever seen anyone layout the options all together before. Anyhow interesting to see the differences...

    General G3/G4 ZIF upgrade questions

@cobalt60 Just curious which specific carrier card are you using for your experiments? There are at least 3 different carriers that I know of but there may be more as well.

    Diimo Error chime?

Fair enough can’t hurt to check them, just seems unlikely but easy enough to check.

    Diimo Error chime?

Ah yep here it is! I knew I had seen this, but it is for a slightly different card although sounds like his did more than mine. Reliability issues seems different than did not work at all.

    Diimo Error chime?

Yeah no real caps to speak of that can leak. Here’s a picture of the back. I was actually going to try a different PSU and actually I was going to try it in my Mac II as well with the adapter just to see. I read somewhere where bolle mentioned something about having trouble with a diimo card...

    Diimo Error chime?

Ugh that's what I thought, but not sure where to troubleshoot on this thing. No Caps on it so that doesn't help.

    Diimo Error chime?

Any ideas on how to fix this? When I put this card in my IIci I get the normal chime followed by a funky chime.

That would be super helpful. Love to be able to drop in the 9500 board and have fully working slots again.

    SCSI CD-ROM Drive Repair

Ugh! This thread is starting to get depressing! Really was hoping there was a way to repair these, there aren't that many out there or they are becoming more scarce in working condition that is.

    SCSI CD-ROM Drive Repair

Well so far I have attempted to repair 3 drives by cleaning the lense and have not been successful, I am going to have to dig deeper on this issue I guess. At least one of the drives is a rare black SCSI drive and I really want to fix that one, however while it is detected in system profiler I...
