    Interest in PCI Powermacs?

I kind of love the PCI PPC era because of the clones. Apple's decisions in this era as far as chassis layout and design is enough to make anyone dislike them on that basis alone and there isn't anything too special about the PCI powermacs that makes any one of them specifically desirable as a...

    Finally- a PISMO!!!

I love my pismo quite a bit. I got mine for free from Cory5412 a while ago. I got it a new palmrest/LCD assembly. It looks amazing, but its got one outstanding issue I've yet to correct. It charges/powers but outputs no sound. I've replaced the sound/power board twice. I'll figure it out tho...

    WiFi for compacts??

I think at this point in time the best you are going to get is one of the many ethernet > wifi bridges. You'd need to configure it on a PC, but after that it should work nicely, provided you have an ethernet adapter.

Scored a Powermac G3 All In One

This is my favorite PPC machine, hands down. I affectionately call mine weirdway. I even used it as a sever for a bit. NetBSD & Linux run like a charm :) [as does OS9 & X] //wthww

    PowerBook 5XX replication or redesign?

You are going to hate me, but I could care less about it being a tablet. I would rather have a functioning laptop. Something with hinges that are made of less fail. But we all have dreams, dont we? ;) //wthww

    PowerBook 5XX replication or redesign?

Hi! I've been thinking. The only real way to make sure we still have powerbook 5XX machines that aren't in a million pieces for any meaningful amount of time is to make a new enclosure for them. So, here is my question. For the moment, ignoring the logistics what would be better? Exactly copying...

    Mibbit

To post an update: The IRC channel is joinable by anyone with a regular client, or by using the freenode web client. You must be logged in to freenode services to talk. This is a fair trade off, without outright blocking a certain service. Mibbit is still blocked by freenode, but you can use...

    PPC Mac Clones

ahaha, who in their right mind would turn down a maxxboxx?. I've always had a special place in my heart for one. If it ever gets filled, I guess we'll find out. If anyone here has pics of one, care to share? //wthww

Second Conquest in a 2 day period!

As long as you use GS/OS and get yourself a hard drive [you could do it on like, eight floppies. Oh god, the swapping!], it will do appletalk.

    NetBSD on LC 575

ChristTrekker, if you ever need help with anything that I can offer it in, please, ask! Contiki on a 68k machine would be GLORIOUS! [/me crosses bodily appendages] //wthww

    A/UX Web Servers?

Just on a security note, you'd be better off writing a simple webserver in perl than you would be putting that old of an apache build on a machine running A/UX. Does every outside-accessible daemon on that have a vulnerability by now? //wthww

    The Elusive PowerBook 550c

Not to spill the beans or anything on him, but our very own defor has one, previously owned by IPNixon. Its very nice, if not in decent shape. Never the less, please remember that it sadly shares the vulnerability that all powerbook 5xx machines share. Bad hinge design and poor plastic formula...

    Concerning the editing post policy

Quite honestly, I rarely post, and usually lurk on the forums here. I'm quite active in the irc, but thats another thing. Lets put this into perspective. You all are arguing on the internet. I dont need to repeat the old adage about arguing on the internet, let alone arguing on a 68k mac...
