Ticking from these machines and drives with no disk inserted is normal, expected behavior. It should disappear once a disk is inserted.

Yes, we tried this and ultimately it did some wonky things.

Very interesting, I will need to see if I have any of those particular mice to try. Ultimately, yes, it’s a different feel than today’s machines because there is so much more real estate to cover. On the flip side, crazy fast mouse movement makes pinpoint control more of an issue.
