This is…absolutely one of the greatest things I’ve seen in years. My kids constantly ask me why a game won’t work (e.g. screen isn’t set for 256 colors, everything is “small” because the resolution isn’t 640x480), so this is absolutely amazing! Hopefully this will work on my PT Pro with G3 card!

True, but they still don’t sound the same as Sony Mac 1.4 MB drives of the non-original (auto inject) design.

It’s just the head drive motor specific to them. They sound the same out of the case.

Sometimes the floppies are part of the charm. I never like to play Dark Castle/BDC except from floppies.

+1 on this, I was going to say I’d make a floppy for you, too. As Torbar said, there are some fine options there to load disk images.

Which sort? If it’s a beige one with floppy drive, you’re fine.

One last issue: do you have other Macs that you can make 800k disks with? Plus won’t read 1.4 MBs.

Ok, guess I am sort of an idiot. It is just 10 Base-T....so I need a 100 Base-T card that will work.

Also...what other classic Macs do you have? If you have a G3/G4 with early Mac OS X or OS 9 on it, just format the SD card as Mac OS Standard, drop an appropriate System folder on it, make sure it is "blessed", and you should be fine. No need to mess with properly imparting images on SD cards, etc.

I thought it was 100 Base T, I'll double check. Also, I am running an ATA/166 PCI card w/ ATA to SD adapter, so im pushing a lot more than the onboard SCSI does.

You think so? Transfers are a lot speedier for me on a QS G4 with 9.2 on it...

Title says it all. The built-in ethernet is kind of bottlenecking me....are there any that might work under 9 or 8....or not at all?
