Radius Video vision card with studio and RAM upgrade.

The built in Q950 video is much better than that you would get from a videovision. P.S. I have the Telecast setup for both PCI and Nubus versions of the card(s).

Radius Video vision card with studio and RAM upgrade.

Pretty much unusable if you don't get into video capture and editing.

How long until we see enhanced mac motherboard recreations?

The Macs, the upgrades/cards, and boxed software are what I get into.

Also depends on the current draw for the Nubus card (for example a Radius Rocket won't work).

Strange behavior Radeon 9100 128MB Flashed

The 9000 Pro uses 275 Mhz for the GPU and 275Mhz for the DDR speed, The 9100 uses 250Mhz for the GPU but 200 Mhz for the DDR (its dual channel to make up for speed difference). So, if your modified BIOS is using 250/250 you are overclocking the RAM.

How long until we see enhanced mac motherboard recreations?

The problem with new motherboards or new cases is Nubus cards are wider than PCI cards so you will have issues in mounting and spacing. I do like people making 100% motherboard recreations so battery bombed, or broken systems can be fixed. Same with CPU upgrade cards. I wouldn't even mind a...

    Recent finds

Honestly soap, water, and a soft paintbrush will clean out a power supply as well as case parts, just let it air dry a few days before powering it up. Things I can't stand on old machines: 1. Rat/Mouse poop/pee (basically I would 99.999% of the time junk it unless it is very rare). 2. bugs of...

Soap and water gets most of the smell out of the plastics, but the tar in the fan and power supply will be harder to get rid of.

Did you use flux when reflowing the CPU's? Also was this with a heat gun or a temp controlled hot air station?

Warning - floppy drive head mechanism glue is deteriorating

I have seen a broken head in the past and of course plastic broken on Mac auto inject drives (which can now be replaced). Not sure how you could glue the head back on and keep it aligned so it reads disks reliably. I don't recall having many issues with PC floppy drives to be honest.

    G4 dual 450MHz CPU fail

Probably an optical illusion but some capacitors above the apple logo on the back side seem disconnected at the solder joint.

    G4 dual 450MHz CPU fail

Was it working before it shipped? Any bent pins or missing capacitors on the CPU card?

    G4 dual 450MHz CPU fail

I remember when I installed dual G4 processors on my Sawtooth machines you needed a specific revision board for them to work. Never owned a Gigabit G4 and from what I see they made them with single and dual G4 CPUs no idea if there is a difference in firmware between them.

64-Pin 4MB SIMMs for Apple Display Card 8*24 GC

Larger than what fits in VRAM I would assume (to see if the picture is cached in GWORLD RAM or paged to the HD). Uncompressed scanner capture on high settings makes large graphics files.
