IMO these are the best monitors for the pizza box Macs. They look so perfect sitting on LC's or equivalent Performa's. I scored mine on eBay for like $45 bucks.  Its working perfectly, but I suppose I should do the caps sometime soon, just as preventive maintenance. Good job! :)

The Font/DA Mover isn't required on System 7 and up. Just 6 and down.  You can drag fonts straight into the System Folder and it will ask if you want to place them into the Fonts folder, and thats it. Same with DA's...just drag them where needed.  It will run on System 7, but isn't necessary at...

Yeah I get that they're exactly the same board but I just don't understand how my CPU is a 33MHz model but running at 25MHz. Sounds like typical 90s Apple stuff :)

Crystal? I've never heard of a crystal for over/underclocking an LC III.  My processor is 33MHz.  From what I understand you just need to move a resistor from one spot to another on the board to overclock...I have no SMT soldering skills whatsoever so I'm not plannig on doing this mod myself.

Hey all. I was futzing around on my LC III+ the other day and ran TechTool Pro and noticed my gestalt ID is 27, not 62 as a "real" LC III+ should be. I'm running System 7.1 with the correct enabler. My "About This Macintosh" dialog box says Macintosh LC III as well. My machine has the newer case...

Uniserver is the MAN when it comes to recapping vintage Macs :) I had him do my LC III+ board and power supply as preventative maintenance :)

I use my LC III+ for vintage games, the occasional letter/word processing, drawing, very basic/lite web browsing, and networking with my other Macs :)

Dude, my 7500 arrived with a bunch of broken plastic pieces inside too.  The case and all all the other plastic is seriously seriously brittle as hell.  I'm surprised.  Older Macs didn't have this problem.

The seller mentioned to me in a message that theres a USB card installed in one of the slots but it doesn't work.  I'm gonna do some poking around and see if it needs an extension or something along those lines.  If I'm not mistaken, it can be upgraded to a G4.  I'm sure the 500MHz G3 in there...
