Bad caps leading to slow performance ?

Never noticed any of my machines running any slower with older/original caps that needed replacing. And oh yeah, SimCity 2K on an LC or LCII is gonna be painful...lol! Its still pretty damn slow on my LCIII+. I play it on my Performa 475 at minimum, or the B&W G3 if I want the fastest snappy...

    BlueSCSI SD card prep

Not sure. If it supports using .hda files as hard drive images I’d imagine it would.

    BlueSCSI SD card prep

I don’t have any experience with mini vMac, so I don’t know if it even supports using .hda files as hard disk images. But you just drag the .hda file in the Finder to the sd to copy it for use in the bluescsi, just like you’d copy any other file to an sd.

    BlueSCSI SD card prep

I don't see why it wouldn't, provided it can use HDA files for hard drives like Basilik can.

    BlueSCSI SD card prep

I've found its best to use Basilisk II to get your HDA images ready to go before you try to use them on real hardware. I use Disk Jockey to make the size I want, mount it in Basilisk II so I can format the drive, install any system software and applications I need then copy the HDA file to my SD...

    Power Macintosh 7500

I’ve got a 7500 with a Sonnet G3 upgrade card. Great machine. Haven’t had any problems with the PSU yet or caps. Probably should look into that soon. Case plastics are definitely the weak point. Mine had lots of little broken pieces fall out from shipping after I bought it. Top cover stays on...

Corrupted HDD Image With Bad SCSI Cable

Having a bridge machine as a go-between for older Macs is invaluable ;)

    Latest haul!

Few more pics. Running out of room for this stuff! I’m done buying old Mac stuff for awhile, unless maybe an all in one in good shape comes my way. Both monitors have great pictures. Clear and crisp. Glad I was able to find these! Great Trinitron tubes in them. I installed 9.1 on the 6360. It...

    Latest haul!

Picked up some new stuff today! I decided to search Facebook marketplace. I had never used it before. I only have a FB account for my Oculus Quest 2. Found a seller who had two Macintosh Color Displays, a Microtek LCD, a Performa 6360 with a 6500 logic board swap, Gravis joystick, keyboard...

Announcing ZuluSCSI - A file-based SCSI device emulator

Here's an excellent utility that creates disk image files for use with blue/zulu/ra scsi devices: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/disk-jockey-a-simple-hd-image-creator.41075/ Creates the image in any size you want, and installs an Apple SCSI driver onto it for no fuss no muss use. Also...

Announcing ZuluSCSI - A file-based SCSI device emulator

I’d be all over that! The sound of old SCSI drives spinning and crunching away is a big part of the nostalgic Mac experience to me :)

Disk Jockey - a simple HD image creator

I ran across this the other day. It's a simple, small application that easily creates .hda files for use with BlueSCSI/raSCSI/ZuluSCSI! You input the size and configuration you'd like, and it creates the image, and installs an Apple SCSI driver onto it for you. The Mac will then ask you to...

    Beta’s obligatory thread

Gorgeous machine. Back in 1997 a friend of mine got a complete IIgs machine from a family friend with software, manuals, Imagewriter II, everything. He ended up ruining it and not taking care of it. I wish he would’ve taken care of that machine better. Didn’t realize how hard it would be to find...

Announcing ZuluSCSI - A file-based SCSI device emulator

Same. For what it’s worth, the one bluescsi device I’ve tried didn’t work at all. Flashing question mark no matter how I formatted or named the .hda files. The azulscsi I purchased worked out of the box with the same files that didn’t work on the bluescsi. Gonna grab two or three more zuluscsi...

Need help getting Ethernet/Internet on my PM6500

I've been trying to get my 6400 online with ethernet myself. I've tried three different PCI NIC cards, with no sucess. I want to keep the machine on 7.5.5, but it seems like all the drivers for the cards I've tried will only work on OS 8/9. I've tried the SMC 1255TX card, a Kingston PCI card...
