So just for the heck of it I removed screen connections and just cleaned the whole area in picture with a toothbrush. Immediately after I was getting a perfect bong and display, might be worth trying.
I have two 3400s and one of them like yours had pram battery that just had some white corrosion on it and nothing I could really visualize on the board and has the exact same symptoms. It will either click with reset or screechy kinds of noises.

You just have to keep watching. All the ones I've bought have ended up being in the 150 range with shipping. I immediately ignore the ones that want over 200.
Some shippers do know how to send the 5xx and 5xxx. I purchased 7 various machines of those lines off eBay in the past 1-2 years and did not have a piece of broken plastic on any of them.
Not the most exciting find but this has always been my favorite pcmcia Ethernet adapter and not often I find them in the box. At the same time if anyone has any spare dongles laying around I have a few cards that lost theirs through the years.

Quite often there are untested 5300s on eBay which a lot of times are just untested/as-is because of a lack of power adapter. It would probably be easier and quicker to pickup one of those instead of waiting to find just a keyboard.
