Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

I found some resources for buying some custom IC's from the BOM. I tested them and confirmed to be good. 343-0045-B UB10 UB11 https://nl.aliexpress.com/store/4891032/search?SearchText=3430045B 344S0061-A UJ11 https://www.americanmicrosemi.com/product/uncategorized/344S0061-A/...

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Anyone have a clue? Doesn’t seems to be related to ROM, RAM, VIAs, SCSI PLCC or FPU. Removing them doesn’t affect the pattern).

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Thanks:-) Beside this, i found some beautiful good fitting replacement parts for L1 and L2 which aren't on the BOM list; L1 HALO LD11-0246FLF L2 Laird Performance Materials 29F0303-0T0-10

For those who are interested; I measured the ferrite beads located at L22,L20,L19,L18,L17,L16,L15,L14,L13,L12,L11,L10,L9,L8 with my VNA. Hereby a sweep resistance output from 1Mhz to 500Mhz. M1 is at 100Mhz 92Ohm with a low Q factor. Taiyo Yuden FBMJ4516HS111-T is matching this curve.

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Hi all, I created a 3D STL model for the RESET and INTERRUPT button right angle support (for use with the ALPS SKHCBHA010). It doesn't have the bottom prongs but I found out that it doesn't affect the firmness much. This model will fit on the original and the Bolle board. You can download it...

Hi Robin, How did you connect the PLCC20 RTC chip from the Classic to the DIP8 on the SE30 board? Regards, Daan

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

    Unfortunately is this for the 601 series, RP9 is a 4800P Series SOC16 :-(

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Anyone know a replacement for RP9? (Bourne 4816P-002-201) It doesn’t seems to be available anywhere:-( This is a resistor network (200ohm bussed). Most likely used for pull-up, but not sure if I can replace it for a (f.e) 220ohm bussed network..

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Does anybody know what the value is of the SMD ferrite beads on the bottom of the SE/30 board? (L22,L20,L19,L18,L17,L16,L15,L14,L13,L12,L11,L10,L9,L8) It is unfortunately not described on the BOM and part list :-(

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

After some more measuring i came to the following conclusion: ADB ports: This specific 'problem' slot is connected to ground, together with the 2 neighbor pins. This pin should be a problem to isolate. Audio Jack: Pin 1 is ground. Pin 3 is the 'problem' slot. Pin 3 and 5 are internally connected...

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

@Bolle: I ordered a few boards on JLCPCB. They say there is an issue while making them; "As shown below, it seems that these slots are connected to copper pour and will cause short circuit. Shall we make them isolate to proceed??" I looks like these slots are at the audiojack and ADB ports. Are...

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Hi Scott, The SE do have a DIP18 ADB controller, while the SE/30 do have a PLCC type controller. A PIC16CR54 will not do the trick in our case:-( Maybe a ATF16V would do, but nobody confirmed the reversed engineered code do work..

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Thanks again Craig. I did order a few 6Mhz Zilogs! I programmed the provided JEDEC GAL's and confirmed they are working, thanks Bolle for reverse engineering them! I cant wait to start, but I just need a few last parts before the main job can be done:-( Y3 16.9344 MHz Y1 32.768kHz I do see...

    Mac SE ADB Controller

Hi all! Did anyone tested and programmed a PIC16F54 and managed to get a working clone?

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Thank you so much Craig, I think this answered all my questions regarding the Z8530. Both my original boards do have the Z0853004VSG (4mhz) version soldered on. The fact that you have the Z0853006VSG in place tells me that this should not be any problem:-) Thanks again for your support!

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

    @here: Can the ZILOG Z8530 (4Mhz) be replaced by a 6Mhz or 8Mhz (or even 16Mhz) ZILOG Z8530? (AM85C30-16JC AM85C30-8JC AM8530H-8JC etc.)

Macintosh SE/30 logicboard recreation (thread revival)

Thank you craig1410 for updating your basket, and thanks Bolle for updating the board files! My spare board has been badly damaged by battery acid, so I'm still looking for lots of parts before I can start. That gives me plenty of time to prepare properly. Some ASIC's are really hard to find...
