If the capacitors are bad you should replace them, or have someone do it for you. That is what is causing the power issues on the eMac. I would also suggest to check the analog board for any bad caps, because those can fail too. A lot of eMacs were made during the height of the capacitor plague...

Honestly I am not quite sure. If they're the same values, replacing those with good quality caps shouldn't be an issue. Not sure what the deal with the caps being different types was, but I personally do not see much of a difference to warrant further changes with a recap.

I second this. These bezels are getting more expensive, harder to find, and even then you're still dealing with the brittle plastics. I had to completely part out one iMac because it was in terrible shape, and the inner bezel on that was completely SHOT. I did need the parts to fix another unit...

I wonder if the caps are to blame. I replaced a handful of the ones in the power supply and some of those were starting to leak a bit. Also recapped the motherboard. These machines are getting closer to 28-30 years old now...
