One of the files (HandFAX 1.0.4 Updater.sit) seems to be corrupt on the ISO images available... Bad dump or just a bad disc?

photoshop is a big one. get those gaussian blurs on!
allegedly the finder can benefit from the multiprocessors for threaded tasks... dunno if that's true though.
here's a list of apps that probably support multiple processors.
i have found that a bunch of 8.5/8.6 images online are seemingly badly imaged and won't boot things properly. haven't done much verification of them though
check continuity of all traces/legs in the video circuit... the redrawn schematics on github are good for that.
also consider just removing the affected ICs that are near the capacitors... cleaning under them and replacing with brand new parts.
perhaps vertical collapse together with wonky video memory muxes?
these guys often get damaged by the leaking cap juices... and they can cause the "simasimac" screen. a vertical collapse might compress that and cause a dashed line?
