you can build an adapter to use the floppy emu, no need to modify it. i'd use that for testing first... it takes the unreliable floppies out of the equation

well, i'm questioning if it's actually "lithium ion". a li-on battery would require custom circuitry to use on a macintosh portable... and i've never heard of a project like that. if there is, I really want to know more are you sure you're not referring to a LiFePO4 battery?
