    M2785 rebuild

It’s not glued shut, it’s ultrasonically welded. So that won’t work unfortunately.

iBook G3 Clamshell Is The Supercapacitor Required For Functioning?

My blueberry came with it missing, was ripped off. That board worked but it wouldn’t POST unless it was a cold boot. I’d have to unplug the power cable for like 15 seconds and then it would be fine. More recently it’s developed another problem, hard to say if any of this was related to the...

    M2785 rebuild

A recap might get it working again. There's one hidden screw under the label, then you can put the brick into a vice and bust it open. Mine opened fairly cleanly.

spotted a very interesting G4 EVT prototype on ebay

Actually only sold a couple minutes ago (time zones), I checked the listing at 2:49 EST (it's 3:05 EST now) and it was still up. Sold in the next 5 minutes after that. In case whoever bought it doesn't end up posting anything about it, I saved the listing photos...

PowerBook 100 display, LCD_VEE issue but inductors ok?

FSTN film is available now on AliExpress, it's just often expensive. No clue how the US tariffs would affect that now though, might be prohibitively expensive.

PowerBook 1400 battery - what cell type?

I finally rebuilt mine a few months ago, I get about 2.5 hours from it with moderate usage. This was using Tenergy 4/3A cells. Will have to see how it holds up in the long term.

Macintosh Portable no backlit Lucio Fontana effect

First time I’ve seen a Portable with vinegar syndrome. You don’t see that too often. Not sure what type of film one of those screens uses.

    PowerBook 3400 Battery in 5300

It could be shot, you won’t know until you charge it with a 3400 or a G3 Kanga. Whatever the process is to get one working on a 5300, if such a thing exists, I don’t know right now.

    PowerBook 3400 Battery in 5300

I have read some old forum posts from the 2000s where multiple people state they have Lithium batteries working in their 5300. Someone said they must be running the original 7.5.2 firmware, but my 5300 won't run off a 3400c battery even if I'm running that version. Another thing I've heard is...
