Questions about SCSI2SD setup in Mac LC III

This guy put the card in an anti-static bag from an old hard drive. http://imgur.com/gallery/bVLBQ

    AppleScript strange error

It seems I found a solution to that so I should be able to use the 1.5GB of RAM of my 9500 with 7.6.  I just replaced the AppleScript and AppleScript lib extensions with those coming from a Mac OS 8.1 install. It looks like it is working well so far.

LC III System 7.1 Install disks

Hi Carloselvis, The LC III needs a system enabler to run 7.1. What you need is find a copy of the system 7.1 disk tools that includes this system enabler, just make a floppy with it, boot the mac from it and copy the system enabler to your system folder. You should be able to restart your LC...

    4400 question, 604e?

    It looks like there was only 2 models of 4400 (a 160MHz and a 200MHz) and both had a 603e processor : http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac/index-powermac.html

best media player for pre-Mac OS X

For music I would say Sound Jam. It is the ancestor of itunes. You were able to play mp3s and stream web-radios with it. For videos, I would say quicktime.

    Beige G3 running 10.2

A Radeon 7000 is very quick for 2D and 3D and would still work even if you decide to install Mac OS 8 on that Mac. I also suggest you put the maximum 768MB of RAM in this machine. OS X will be very happy! :)

    AppleScript strange error

I come back to this post as buying new RAM sticks brought back the issue.   I have made some investigations, I tried 2 different 9500 motherboards, I tried many different memory sticks and it looks like the applescript engine on system 7 bugs when there is more than 512MB of RAM in any case.  ...

    Lots of RAM :)

I am amazed to see a 9600 maxed out still running as a server today! :) 1.5GB was a lot of RAM in 2000. @NJRoadfan, I have an SSD drive on that mac. It also had a G4 card but I downgraded to the G3 because it wasn't handling the SATA card correctly. I prefer using System 7 on that Mac because...

    Lots of RAM :)

Yep, I got them from OWC! It feels weird to have more RAM in that 1995 computer than in my Powerbook G4! :)

    Lots of RAM :)

I made my long time dream come true! I have maxed out my 9500 with 12 128MB sticks. :)   One of them is a little different but it has the exact same specs as the others so it should be well interleaved.    I opened the applications I use the most with plenty of RAM and still have some room for...

New here could use some help with my IIcx

Hello Thanos! Welcome! If the sad mac came up in 1994, I doubt it would be because of the capacitors. They are now new anyway. Have you checked the RAM sticks one by one, if one is broken, changing its slot may not help.  I guess you have inspected the motherboard for corrosion or bad...

    SE/30 System error...

If you are using Mac OS 9, you can use Disk Copy to make bootable disk tools floppies from an image file (you may be able to find an image on the internet). There is a menu for that. It is very easy and has always worked well for me. The most difficult, to me, has always been to find a working...

    SE/30 System error...

Hey Octaedre, Nice to see another french member! :) Error #2 means Address Error and it could come from many things. It could be a bad RAM stick as well. The best for you would be to find your bootable floppy and try to boot the mac from the floppy. If you can't find it and can't make one...

    AppleScript strange error

Well, I have tried 100 different things with no success, and at some point I removed some ram sticks, re-installed the system and it works now! :) I think I had some bad RAM sticks so I will try to get some new ones. I think OWC still sells those 128MB for quite cheap. How much RAM can...

    AppleScript strange error

I tried to do a fresh install of 7.6.1 and had the same error. I couldn't even compile the default example scripts from the install. I tried to do a fresh install from the 9500 CD install (7.5.2), I also tried to do a minimal system install with just applescript... I always got the same error...

Installing OS 7.5 or 8.1 without a CD Drive

I may be wrong but I think that only the disk tools images are on the CD. If you need the floppy version of the install, you will have to get it from somewhere. Apple had some system 7 installs on their website but apparently removed the page. I suggest you read...
