Hiya folks,
I know this ain't the software part of the forums but I figure this might be the best place to ask..
I've already posted a thread in the software section but I don't seem get the right audience ::)
Anyway, I'm seeking MacOS 9.2.2 Boot disc/img. Please if anyone out there has a...
Excuse me, why do i need the "classic support enabler" ?
I'm not wanting to install OSX or load classic via OSX. I'm want to run MacOS9.22 natively.
Sorry for the late reply. I don't have any classic restore disks for this machine or another PowerBook. Though I have one 9.2.1 but the system...
Well.. the G5 tower is pretty much default or stock with the exception of the hard-drive. The originally sell for some reason (i suspect security) didn't ship it with the tower. So right now I've installed a spare drive but new in to the lower bay. Installed Leopard directly of the retail disk...
Ermm... Guy's you have a whole forum for the G5... Yet you choose to hi-jack this thread.
So in light of 64bit applications, how does your discussion contribute to my problem solving? Would it be too much to ask, If I say start a new thread for 64 bit applications?
The system's problem is really weird, for instance, I've had the machine up and running for days, almost a week even, and it's been fine... then restarting the machine booting into leopard will make it crash! xx( ... taking out the user upgraded (Kingston crap) seems to make the G5 systems...
Yep.. it'll install the wrong version to the target machine... that's why I'm experiencing a rather unstable machine... At present the machine works, boots up fine and on the odd occasion it'll stall and bomb out!!
So, since I can't seem to find a source to buy the correct OS (Mac OS 9.2.2...
OK.. mines not a 1.6. :p
But dude, considering this is like my sixth machine floating about the house, I won't be too arsed about it's lacking in performance.... I just want the stupid thing to work and not crash every so often. LOOL
You have to remember, for it's time and age, it used to be...
Thanks for the wise words. I don't plan to dismantle the machine unless it's a last resort. Why? Because for 90% of the time it's booting fine and it seems to work. The fans ain't ramping up at all.. though they are working. So naturally, i'm thinking those system panics are related to something...
Hiya guys,
Here's the problem...
I have a PowerBook Titainium 867Mhz. I plan to install MacOS 9.2.2, only the original seller didn't supply the original disks and having a huge problem getting any sort of system software on there, that make the system function correctly.
I'm wondering, is it...
Thanks JRL. Before I dash out and buy them.. or one's what will ship to the UK. I wanna try problem solve it, even if that means grabbing the soldering iron.
Surely if the processors are faulty/dead, those crashes would happen continuously, on every single boot!!
But that's not the case, it...
Hiya Jim.
Actually I have an MacPro '08 first and recently I'd acquired a PPC G5 - i know that's not normal... lol
Usually I'll buy a Mac when I discover there's something I need... could be a speed bump or a dedicated machine for a simple task..
In this case, I just need a machine to...
Oh....
Does anyone have a copy of SMCfanControl for pre-intel machines? I'd like to bump up the fan speed see is it due to heat... might be a dry joint.
Well, there's 4Gb of ram in there spread over six sticks - that's how it arrived.
Four of them seem to be stock Samsung stuff (what Apple seems to use) and the other two are Kingston modules.
Will it work with only two sticks in there? Or does it need a minimum of four?
...I think I need to...
Hiya all, some of you might of notice I recently acquired a very, very cheap PPC G5 2Ghz (DP), sub $150 system).
Now as far as I'm aware this model doesn't have liquid cooled CPU's and thus those crashing ain't related to leakages, or are they?
So.. here's my dilemma, kinda odd behaviour if...
Hmm.. Interesting. When I boot the PowerBook and goto the Apple for it's system stats, I find this system has a boot ROM of 9.0.1, yet I can't boot from a 9.0.1 CD. Why's that?
How I do screen grabs in OS9? I forgotten.
So basically what your saying is, connect both CC and PowerMac up via a printer cable and transfer files from one terminal to the other? But how I make the connection if I need to do a full and clean installation?
