hmm well ive never had any issues with fetch v4.0.3 using my pds network card on both my se/30's and I can use both Appleshare volumes and fetch to copy over anything regardless of size so that rules out the se/30, the network stack (OT1.3), my lan setup, as well as my A2Server and my OS9...
just wondering if you can provide a precompiled firmware I can try just so I can try it out as a process of elimination. maybe add it to you GitHub repo? i doubt that is the issue but its worth a try incase there's something wrong with my build chain
so just a quick update,
I still have to recompile the firmware with the debug option to see what I get on the tx line but in the meantime I have tried a different sd-card, and I have also tried in increasing the disk cache to about 7mb but still no luck, though while not confirmed the increase...
yes no issues with the hdd side of the board, I've been running it for quite awhile as my main hdd, so Im pretty confident it isn't a scsi issue.
I think that's a good point, I should recompile with debug enabled and see what I get out of the TX pin.
well while I don't have much trouble...
thanks, it's getting late here tonight but that's worth investigating tomorrow. my main machine runs MacOS X so I should be able to run Wireshark easily.
the symptom I have is that when I go into Appletalk Control panel it either freezes the Mac straight away if ethernet is selected or when I...
hmm that's an interesting idea actually, my mtu is set to 1500. im not sure if the scuznet Leeds something lower but I'll definitely give that a fiddle with to see if I get different results. I do have a pds lan card that never fails me but I also have a pds graphics card that I use and...
im working on testing different file transfer sizes atm, so far small sub 15mb files I have no issues with ever. will be testing large file transfers over the coming days to see where the issues begins to show itself and ill update as I get results
im not sure if its a driver issue or a...
bummer, money is a bit tight right now so I just can't play that amount of shipping. it would cost me less to get boards made and shipped from china then the $18.25 shipping. no loss those, I'll keep following along with this thread and see how it all evolves over time and hopefully down the...
ive flashed the test firmware and built the db25 loopback and when I run it I get the pulsing status led so Im assuming that the hardware is working as intended. this has me completely perplexed tbh. is there anything else you would suggest me trying?
I live in Victoria, Australia, postcode is 3213, would be looking at just a kit or a pcb, im pretty good with soldering etc
its mainly a curiosity to see how your project is coming along as well as to do some testing with different micro-sd cards I have here and of course to support the work...
I had issues with he first board I built but demented to make a second one using new parts and the networking works with the following issues noticed, though I can't be certain if its and issue with the boards firmware or with my lan setup at this time. perhaps some of you whom have one can...
I haven't been round much lately to see the progress on this, looks like you've improved the code quite a bit to get a respectable 1024kb read performance, just wanted to say congrats there.
was thinking of buying once of you're kits to see how its coming along out of curiosity but I imagine...
yes I would check UE8 and the traces that connect to it as the first point of call, also download the se/30 schematics and trace out the connections. but before you even do that recap the logic board and give it a very, very good clean
you should be mindful of the total wattage of the cards and the se/30 that you are driving. the se/30 psu is only rated to supply so much current and if you tax it to much then you will get voltage drop. there are some meanwell psu units available that will fit inside the original se/30 psu...
very true, I haven't tested max length myself but I imagine that after a point the the video delay would shift the screen off to the right if you used to long a cable..
clever work around is to just cut off the extra/unused part of the connector and just file it down if aesthetics are important to the user. buying a atx extender cable is likely cheaper/easier then the min order for free shipping for the parts from places like digikey/mouser
btw im also wondering is anyone has had issues enabling appletalk on the se/30, its probably an issue with my Mac but with apple talk disabled everything runs fine and I can say use fetch to download some files from my server but if I turn on appletalk it hangs during boot if the ethernet it...
