Just checked last night and there's a third type of the Asante NIC with 10bT and a soldered-on 10BASE5 DA-15 (unfortunately).
Agree that ideally these have VGA out instead of dealing with DB15. Or better yet, drop a VGA-HDMI converter inside :D
On that note, one other fun FYI is the Asante MacCon3 IIsi daughter card supports passing through video (or at least Radius video). I want to give this a try as I have all the parts except the cable itself.

Small update on this from my notes that I just discovered. There was a japanese site that detailed making a connector for the Interware Vimage SE/30 video card using a typical VGA cable adapter from a PC. Attached is what I saved. The site is now offline and not on internet archive.
Thought...
I just picked up a nice SE/30 and on boot I got this pattern. I swapped the board into my known working SE/30 and got the same pattern, so I know its not AB/power related. I'm assuming this pattern is typical for a board needing a recap, but want to confirm as I didn't see it on the repair SE/30...
For archival purposes posting images directly is better I think, as they're more likely to still be up years later, and the whole forum can be backed up in one go. Hopefully we won't have another image breaking forum migration, but that seems lower risk than various 3rd party image links going down.
Ah thanks a lot for the offer! Its not that big of a deal to me at the moment, probably something to address again when Trash finishes his awesome adapter or I get a bit more free time. Good to know there's more info about this board though!
Weird, for some reason it attached an extra character when I pasted the link. Thanks for fixing.
The issue I'm having is that the edges are square, not rounded. Attached is photo.
I don't have a working IIsi to try this on unfortunately. I think the issue might be that some traces on the...
No socket on the IIcx adapter, it just wires up the 68030 straight to a powercache slot. I bought it with a daystar 68030/50 board (the 'P33' labeled variety, the one that works directly in IIci). Attached is photo of other side.
Despite my strong interest in the hacks space, I'm a total...
Oh sorry, not offended, just had a busy week and was asking around to see if anyone I knew could do it. Great to see your investigations progressing at such a rate. I am definitely open to getting this Micromac IIsi adapter buzzed so you can recreate the traces. I'm hesitant to have the chip...
Wow, there's 3 ROMs out there spanning 2 years! Thanks for offering to build a schematic, that'd be much appreciated. Before you do that tho, I did plug it in and fire it up today and got this blank image - no mouse cursor, and squared edges. Basically #9 on this...
Out of curiosity, what ROM version do you have on yours?
Mine is:
264/30 v1.1
0002-1916
08/31/89
Another of these cards just popped up on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/RasterOps-Colorboard-264-SE30-SE-30-Macintosh-Video-Card-Nubus-/262898577481) and it's is:
264/30 v1.2
0002-1942...
I'm beginning to think that this process you're going through is very likely the same process Artmix went through to create the TwinSpark. The MicroMac adapter's chip is a GAL16V8B-10LP and the TwinSpark chip is a GAL16V8D-15LP. They're basically the same exact reprogrammable chip, the latter...
It's not the SE/30 DiiMO / Artmix variant from your diagram, it's the IIsi variant. It's smaller but I'm guessing they're the same thing just differently laid out as it just has the one DIP20 GAL. I don't know if it works in the IIsi (don't have one) but seeing as it works in the SE/30 and it...
Also a lurker happily watching the development of this. If you need a SuperMac Dual PDS adapter for IIsi or Daystar IIcx adapter to assist in your research, let me know. I don't know if they work as I've never tested them, but they look clean. I also have Micromac DiiMo IIsi / Iici adapter (same...
Very cool. I wonder if you could stack this on top of a IIe card, using a F-F euroDIN connector attached to the pins coming out of the top of the IIe card. See photo for something similar example (apologies for using 120pin rt-angle eurodin adapter, it was what I had). I believe people have done...
I recently got my color classic put back together and there's a high pitched noise I'm trying to diagnose. I'm not an analog guy so I can't tell what it is. The sound repeats every 5 seconds or so and is louder when monitor is bright.
I recorded it using a nice mic and pulled out the spectral...
