    Macintosh for the blind?

Hi, Thanks for the recommendation of PlainTalk. I was doing some research today and I found an alternative called outspoken for Macintosh. The problem is the software is extremely rare and some of the details on Macintosh Repository are a bit confusing. Could you help me locate the latest...

    Macintosh for the blind?

Thanks, I’ll try those things out. About the microphone, I actually have the one included standard with a Performa, but it was behaving strangely last time I tried it. Attempting to make a recording would not work and then the computer itself would freeze. Any guesses?

    Macintosh for the blind?

Hello, I’ve pretty much completed my hardware restoration process on my Performa 450. With the thought of a working computer on my mind, another big question has come upon me. Restoring the Macintosh (by just replacing all the bad parts) was pretty easy for me with my low vision, but the...

    Performa 450 restore

I didn’t do the soldering. Someone else soldered that BlueSCSI for me but it had issues. A wrong resistor was installed and another member commented about the jumpers.

    Performa 450 restore

I took a box of Macintosh parts to uBreakiFix. They couldn’t help me with the BlueSCSI soldering, but they did remove the disks from the drive, and at no cost. I brought the floppy drive home and tried it. It didn’t recognize that I was trying to put a disk in it. I don’t know if it comes on or...

    BlueSCSI troubleshooting

I guess I should share the long history on this. I bought this BlueSCSI on eBay from a seller claiming they were authorized who is still selling BlueSCSI today. Since I don’t have any idea myself how to solder, I asked someone else to. A resistor got lost during my search for help. The person...

    Performa 450 restore

I’ve been working on restoring a Macintosh Performa 450 for a long time now. I’ve had one problem after another. Today while attempting to install the internal version of the BlueSCSI, something went wrong. I guess it’s been terminated and doesn’t need to be because the floppy and mouse quit...
