Ok so I have a standard Classic 4mb/40mb hard drive running system 7
used it a few weeks ago fine, however now when I plug it in, with the stard ADB keyboard and mouse, it will just sit on "Welcome to Macintosh" and refuse to boot any further, if I unplug the keyboard and mouse, it continues to...
hey thanks for the response 128
So would in theory if you had a twiggy drive out of a Lisa, would it work on a M0001?
Or is it a case of the ROMs would be different?
interesting subject
I wonder as well if the prototype macs had 256k or 512k of ram.
Does any known prototype twiggy drive Macs still in existance?
Have a look at this, it appears to be a twiggy drive, note how long the disk slot is and the height of the indent surrounding the drive
Compared to a normal Macintosh
Thanks for the links, given me heaps to read up on.

Ok I have been trying to research this,
from what I can gather, the HD20 will not work on a stock, standard 128k mac?
From what I have managed to find googling online, the Tecmar 10mb drive would,
the profile hard drive was never used on the 128k? or the 512k for that matter
Has anyone done...
Has anyone seen one of these before?

I have been reading through old posts and notice that System .85 was shipped on the guided tour disk with the original Macintosh, this got me thinking, Is .85 the oldest known verson of the system software?
What happened to .83 etc or .34?
I know these would be pre release copies, but maybe...
Yeah, they pop up sometimes on ebay USA, but then there is the hassle and expense of shipping.
I am hoping, foolishly that one will pop up here in Oz for me.
But I was also curious about our American friends, how rare are they over there.
Hey JB I was reading in another thread that you have a second 128k?
do you have any pics or info about that, love to hear more about it and what you are up to with it.

Are there any other Australian 128k owners here?
Or Lisa owners for that matter, I did have a Lisa 2/5, running system 5 with the unmodded screen kit (tall...
Hello there JB
You are doing great things with that 128k you have there and bringing it back to life
I thought I would start my own thread rather than clutter yours up with my ramblings
128k's seem really really rare here in Australia, I used to collect Apple stuff about 15 years ago and the...
