So would this 16" M1298 not support 640 x 480 for older games then?

Would love to find a 14"-16" inch monitor for my LC III as the 12's just seem a tad small to me these days.
So I:
-flipped the rubber gasket so contact is better
-cut a piece of paper to cover the button
-used two strips of electrical tape
I will report back. I can confirm that the computer started with that in there, and it took an extra prod or two to get it started (I consider a good sign...
Well this is interesting: http://www.smalldog.com/techtails/46/
"The front power gasket (Apple TIL #88044) can be another reason for a
misbehaving Cube. If your cube randomly turns on or off, especially if it
happens when you bump the desk on which the computer sits, look to the power
button...
I would go to the trouble but I don't think it's the HDD. Fresh install of OS 9.2.2 on a fresh hard drive and the computer is behaving the same as before. I think it must have something to do with a piece of dust or sensitivity in the power button area.
EDIT: This is helpful...
Thanks guys. Anyone have a link on a "how to" with pictures for a cleaning of the power button? I have a sneaking suspicion it might be related to this as I've taken my cube apart so many times to upgrade RAM, Video Card, HD, Optical drive...etc. etc...
When I bought mine it had only 9.2.2 on it from the original owner, so I think they are fine with that...
Just shut mine down about 15 minutes ago, one minute ago it just fires itself up without me touching it....arg. Going to have to unplug it for now.
The past few months my cube will randomly start up (when I bump into my desk for example), sometimes when gaming, it will randomly crash as well (luckily less frequently.)
Recently, I put in a new 80GB HDD, with a fresh OS 9.2.2 install, and also did a new PRAM battery. I zapped the PRAM 3...
Thanks for the great advice everyone, much appreciate it.
I noticed in the system profiler screen shots from the auction that the RAM is already at 128MB, and keeping my fingers crossed the L2 cache is up to 1mb as well.
Will be getting the USB and ethernet cards/sticks off ebay, and will...
I never thought I would get one of these...for a quasi-reasonable price anyway.
Listed for $999 on ebay, put in a best offer of $900 and won it. Looks to be in great shape I may just need to re-do the speaker covers and leather on the keyboard at some point (certainly isn't terrrible now.)...
I noticed two people on ebay were advertising their 12" monitors as 14"s....wrote them to correct that..lol.
What about the M1298? Even though that is 832 x 624 there is no reason it shouldn't do 620 x 480 if I plug it into my LC III right?
I am trying to find a period monitor to go with my LC III. Is there a list anywhere of what monitor models match various LC and Performa models?
I recall the LC monitors would mostly sit right on the pizza box itself wheras the performas usually had a little stand in between them.
Have been...
I will admit it's been about five years since i fired up the ole' classic.
When I tried to last night, there was a disturbing loud humm (electrical sounding) coming from the PSU area.
I opened her up and all the boards are good, no exploded caps or PRAM batteries that I could see.
Of course I...
Thanks for the heads up. Will ask my local soldering wizard to recap it when he is moving that resistor to overclock to 33mHz. Any good place to buy Cap Kits for these or easy enough to put together by oneself?
