How what?
Don't know anything more yet. I'll get it on saturday! I offered to pay something, and she said like €50. Pretty nice!
You'll get some picture as soon as I'm back home with it!
And there's also already a Mac Minitosh out there, sadly… I like both names. At first I named my project after the destruc.tv one (too bad he painted it black, otherwise it's pretty cool!), which is the one which got me started. Then, after crawling the web for similar projects to get some...
As long as I remember, it's a kind of clone of MacPaint and SuperPaint. I'm sure I have it somewhere, and it does run without asking for a disk. I'll check as soon as I can!
I can't believe it's true. A nice lady asked on a swiss forum I'm on if anyone would be interested in getting her faithful Apple II Europlus she got new back in 1982. And I was the first one to answer, so all I have to do is drive about two hours to get it!
She says it's nearby pristine, with...
nextse7en, this is a great project! I especially like the clean look of your custom-made innards. I thought I had to jump in that thread just to show off once more with my own Macintosh SE/X (which I recently re-branded from its original "Macminitosh"): flickr gallery.
I went the easy way with...
I hope nobody mind some french speaking around here… :)
Salut Joël, je vois que tu as trouvé la source! Tu es entre de bonnes mains, y a des mecs vraiment balèzes par ici, pour tous les sujets…
Ok, just to keep you helpful fellows updated, it's been almost two weeks, and the 9500 boots fine under OS 9 and OS X either from the card or the internal bus. It's pretty easy, once you know (and remember!) which disk has been formatted where!
Thanks to all!
So it's like a normal behavior?
Ok, I can live with it. I'm just a (tiny little) bit disappointed, sine I thought that thanks to that card I'd be able to easily switch drives from different machines.
Thanks all!
Ok, it seems like this issue will need some more investigation.
Don't worry: I can still boot from the disks that are connected to the card.
Now I have the opposite problem: I can't boot from any disks connected to the internal ATA bus, except for one. This is true wether the card is plugged...
I'll see what I have. I'm in the middle of the process of sorting all my software. And I remember having downloaded a couple of things from multimac.ch back when it was still online.
I saw in another thread you already tried to access files through the Internet Archive. Have you tried all links...
;D ;D ;D
Some good news around here tonight!
Unknown_K, you were right on that one! Having spent too much time messing around on that issue this morning, I completely forgot to reformat that particular disk while connected to the card.
So, I spent some time to clear my desk, putting all the...
So, I tried this morning, sadly without any luck.
I removed the internal hard disk, letting only the 320 Gb on the Acard. At first the computer wouldn't find a startup disk (question mark). I booted from a CD only to re-bless the System Folder ont the 320 Gb disk, and just as yesterday, on...
Thanks equill!
Sorry I haven't given any feedback earlier. I don't know what happened for sure, but my CD eventually mounted fine. It's most certainly a termination issue, but it seems to work randomly with that drive and that cable.
Thanks for the replies!
I haven't tried detaching all other drives, though I tried de-blessing the other System folder, and it wouldn't boot at all (question mark floppy icon). And on next reboot the System folder on the Acard drive will become de-blessed.
Well, it's absolutely not vital since...
Hi all!
This question would probably fit as well in the "peripherals" forum, but my guess is that most PCI cards users certainly hang up around here.
I just purchased a brand new Acard 6280M PCI card as well as a brand new 320 Gb ATA hard drive as my new "old world software backup" setup...
Hi all,
Funny, it seems there's a lot of topics about the 9500 these days. Actually I just "liberated" one of those beasts for myself two days ago. I got it pretty cheap and it came with a 300 MHz G3 card and a LaCie SCSI CD burner but the poor guy was indeed in an awful state. Dirty as hell...
Hi all and many thanks for the replies!
Actually I still didn't take the time to further investigate those drives. And I just put the IIgs back on its shelf this morning, to make some room on my "surgery table" for the PowerMacintosh 9600 I received today.
So it'll be a couple more days/weeks...
